Location: Camarillo, CA

About the Opportunity
  • We are seeking an experienced Engineer Systems 3 to support advanced Electronic Attack (EA-18G Growler) programs within a leading aerospace and defense environment.
  • This role supports mission-critical software development, integration, verification, and validation activities for Growler Block 1 and Block 2 programs.
  • The selected candidate will work onsite at Camarillo, CA engineering facility, collaborating with software engineers, systems engineers, and defense customers on cutting-edge airborne electronic warfare systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and contribute to software system architecture and design efforts.
  • Develop and execute requirements-based verification and validation test procedures.
  • Perform integration, functional, regression, and performance testing of embedded software systems.
  • Validate traceability between system requirements and test cases using IBM DOORS or equivalent requirements management tools.
  • Analyze test results, document defects, and support root-cause investigations.
  • Collaborate with developers to resolve software issues and improve system performance.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Support peer reviews, milestone reviews, technical interchange meetings, and customer demonstrations.
  • Interpret Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Software Requirements Specifications (SRS), and system architecture documentation.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure successful program execution.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related STEM discipline with 5+ years of experience; OR
  • Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 3+ years of experience.
  • Experience writing functional and technical requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with embedded software integration, verification, and validation testing.
  • Knowledge of requirements-based testing methodologies.
  • Experience using IBM DOORS or similar Requirements Management Systems (RMS).
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and DevSecOps/CI-CD environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root-cause analysis and defect tracking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to work onsite full-time.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace, defense, avionics, or mission systems experience.
  • Experience leading system-level integration and performance testing efforts.
  • Strong background in software verification and validation (V&V).
  • Experience assessing test metrics and ensuring compliance with software requirements.
  • Ability to lead defect investigations and coordinate resolution across engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of electronic warfare, military aircraft systems, or mission-critical software environments.
