Position Overview

As a(n) [position title] within PNC's Without Detection & Investigation organization, you will be based in Louisville, KY.
This role is for an analyst who reviews/processes incoming and outgoing check fraud claims on behalf of PNC customers, other financial institutions and the US Treasury pertaining to Endorsement and Altered check issues. The analyst is responsible for validating check fraud incidents by gathering, maintaining, and storing related case documentation, reviewing customer transactions to prevent and mitigate risks of fraudulent activity in addition to obtaining claim resolution. This may require direct contact with customers, internal bank service partners, legal, as well as interaction with external associates such as other banks and law enforcement agencies. Additional duties include the timely reporting of suspicious activity to the appropriate personnel:
• Good organizational skills/experience needed to manage & prioritize a large, varied case load effectively and efficiently.
• Having high attention to details.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to interact with clients, upper management, and law enforcement.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Working knowledge of the UCC Codes and Reg CC statues related to check fraud
• Ability to multi-task and cross train on multiple functions on a small team
• Knowledge and use of PNC's mainframe (COR/CIF) and/or Service Browser strongly encouraged
• Basic Excel skills and knowledge suggested
• Ingenuity and persistence to obtain case information not readily available with an eye for detail

Job Description
  • Reviews and investigates customer cases, reports and work for potential and actual loss. Minimizes fraud, Anti-Money Laundering and/or organizational risk. Performs early detection of suspicious activity. Controls and prevents losses. May lead the work of and/or train detection and investigation staff.
  • Researches and analyzes bank activities and reports to detect and prevent possible fraudulent and suspicious activities. Recommends disposition. Identifies gaps and control enhancements.
  • Uses defined research procedures to identify and resolve issues. Identifies trends and escalates as appropriate.
  • Follows standards and practices to mitigate fraud, Anti-Money Laundering and other risk exposure and loss. Shares best practices among the team and/or service partners.
  • Prepares and maintains appropriate documentation of analysis performed and coordinates with internal or external stakeholders as appropriate.
