CNC Machinist - Coopersville Area

CNC Machinist | Coopersville, MI

Salary Range: $46,000 - $77,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Coopersville that are seeking CNC Machinists. These companies are committed to building strong teams and are looking for professionals who can lead initiatives effectively. Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines (lathes, mills, grinders) to produce precision parts.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code to determine machining operations.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using various metrology tools to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot machine malfunctions, adjust offsets, and perform routine maintenance to optimize machine performance.
  • Select and replace tooling as needed, ensuring proper cutting parameters and tool life.
  • Load and unload parts, deburr as required, and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to set up, operate, and program CNC machines (mills, lathes, etc.) with G-code and M-code.
  • Strong understanding of various cutting tools, materials, and their applications.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges) and quality control processes.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance on CNC machinery and troubleshoot common issues.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam)
  • Proficiency in G-code and M-code programming beyond basic editing
  • Certification in a specialized machining area (e.g., advanced CNC programming, lean manufacturing)
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting multi-axis CNC machines (4-axis, 5-axis)
