Job description

Job Title: Clinical oncology research RN
Location: Fairfax, VA (On-site)
Job Type: Full-time
Reports to: VP of Clinical Operations
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Research Infusion Nurse with strong oncology experience to support both standard care and clinical trial activities. This role requires expertise in chemotherapy/biotherapy administration, IV/venous access, and patient education while ensuring patient safety and protocol compliance.
Qualifications:
  • Current Virginia RN license or Compact
  • BLS required, ACLS preferred
  • OCN certification preferred
  • Proficient in chemotherapy administration and central line management
Key Responsibilities:
Oncology Care Duties:
  • Provide age-appropriate care and therapy assessment
  • Assist with exams, procedures, and patient flow
  • Manage central lines, ports, and venipuncture
  • Document care and communicate with providers
  • Educate patients and coordinate community resources
  • Adhere to OSHA safety protocols
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for clinical staff
Clinical Trial Duties:
  • Verify informed consent and perform study-specific tasks
  • Educate patients on study requirements and adherence
  • Administer investigational drugs per protocol
  • Collect and document labs, ECGs, and vital signs
  • Collaborate with investigators and ensure accurate reporting
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand/walk for long periods
  • Manual dexterity and normal range of vision/hearing required
