Job description

Completes ongoing Data Center critical infrastructure maintenance and repair for all service lines to pre-defined service level agreements (SLAs). Oversees and coordinates emergency response and ensures critical issues are promptly resolved. Guides communications and handover processes to ensure that operational requirements and specifications are met. Provides expert input for effective contract administration including generation and review of contracts and supervises the development of policy documents. Reviews proposals of maintenance plans and escalates/shares findings with senior leaders for approval. Identifies opportunities for team members to participate in training programs.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $97,500 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

Key Responsibilities
Critical Environment Maintenance Support:
-Leads and ensures monitoring activities of ongoing critical environment maintenance support for all service lines to pre-defined service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure service uptime is maintained to the highest standards and that faults are dealt with promptly.
-Guides team in applying operating knowledge of engineering systems for advanced diagnostics and repairs.
-Applies knowledge of Oracle processes, procedures, and industry standards to resolve non-routine issues.
-Reviews recommendations for system-level enhancements to reduce or eliminate potential problems.
-Leads analysis of the suitability of components, processes, or action plans for assigned site(s).

-Evaluates opportunities and makes recommendations for system-level enhancements.

-Leads analysis of the suitability of components, processes, or action plans for assigned site(s).

-Guides team and directs medium level impact projects, ensuring coordination with relevant stakeholders. 
Incident Management and Operation Improvement:
-Leads the management of incidents that impact critical infrastructure and the proactive and timely resolution of such incidents.
-Facilitates collaboration with design, construction, commissioning, facility engineering, and data center operations teams integrate new engineering design systems to existing data center.
-Monitors team engagement with operational optimization and efficiency improvement initiatives.
-Evaluates and ensures team adherence to best practices and standards regarding safe working practices.
-Leads cross-functional post-incident reviews for assigned site(s) by conducting root cause analyses, synthesizing lessons learned, and overseeing development and execution of Corrective and Preventive Action Plans (CAPAs) to mitigate recurrence and strengthen system resilience at scale.
-Encourages team to share lesson learned from post-incident reviews to enable response actioning and drive improvements for assigned site(s).
-Oversees and coordinates emergency response and ensures critical issues are promptly resolved.
Site Commissioning and Build:
-Leads site reviews and assessments for large-scale or high-priority data center builds, evaluating technical, environmental, and infrastructure factors to support strategic decision-making.
-Reviews and approves technical documentation for tooling input and ensures the quality and completeness of technical reports.
-Oversees design and commissioning review activities, leading analysis of commissioning data to verify compliance with engineering standards and project goals.
-Initiates and leads cross-functional collaborations to ensure key items are addressed and systems are aligned and functioning.
-Directs team on gathering data and identifying issues and facilitates handoff to engineering teams.
Data Center Operations Management:
-Manages the validation of on-site data centers operations in relation to the engineering infrastructure.
-Serves as an engineering subject matter expert (SME) for on-site operations related to mission critical systems, operations, and functionality.
-Guides communications and handover processes to ensure that operational requirements and specifications are flagged, raised, and addressed by the appropriate team.
-Ensures adherence to developed standards and policy through the review of documentation, team participation in commissioning activities, design summits, and data center commissioning or reviews.
-Serves as a senior engineering reviewer as needed and leads the engineering Change Advisory Board (CAB) process, ensuring changes are assessed, approved, and implemented in alignment with operational risk and change management protocols.
Engineering Design, Leadership, and Governance:
-Manages a project or other design and engineering initiatives.
-Provides guidance in project or other design and engineering initiatives to ensure they are meeting or exceeding company expectations.
-Coordinates with internal and external project team members in delivering data centers for Oracle.
-Provides expert input for effective contract administration including generation and review of contracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and other pertinent documents.
-Supervises the development of policy documents.
-Creates and maintains best in class policies and procedures, leading reviews of policy and procedure documents.
-Reviews technical reports to validate findings, influence decision-making, and ensure alignment with engineering standards and strategic objectives.
-Reviews proposals of maintenance plans, including benchmarking with others and cost analysis, and escalates/shares findings with senior leaders for approval.
Training and Knowledge Sharing:
-Identifies opportunities for team members to participate in training programs.
-Owns and maintains a drill program to ensure engineers are prepared to address incidents/emergencies.
-Acts as a subject matter expert with many complex, advanced systems and trains others internal and external to the team.
-Coaches others by providing technical guidance, sharing best practices, and supporting the professional development of team members.
-Shares knowledge in brown bag training sessions or presentations to other areas of the organization.

Colocation Vendor Management:
-Supervises the acquisition of adequate resources, such as spare parts, generator fuel, water, and consumables.
-Guides and enables vendor and contractor scheduling and site access, providing input that supports the execution and completion of work per Oracle expectations and safe-working practices.
