Job description

Olive Recruiting is seeking an experienced Director of Business Development to join one of our valued clients. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic sales leader who enjoys developing executive-level relationships, identifying new market opportunities, and driving revenue growth across the energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors. Location: Houston, Texas
Full-time, direct hire opportunity (not a temporary position)
Compensation: Starting at $185,000 base salary, plus a 20% annual performance bonus. Additional compensation may be available based on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans to drive revenue growth and expand market presence across the entire Americas region.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, serving as a trusted business partner.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with owners, EPC firms, industrial contractors, manufacturers, and other key decision-makers.
  • Lead business development process, from prospecting and opportunity identification through contract negotiations and successful project handoff.
  • Collaborate with internal operational and technical teams to develop competitive, customer-focused solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and commercial strategies.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of qualified opportunities and provide accurate sales forecasts.
  • Represent the organization at customer meetings, networking events, conferences, and industry functions.
  • Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitive activity to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Travel as needed to support customer relationships and business development initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of business development, technical sales, account management, or commercial leadership experience within the energy, industrial, infrastructure, engineering, construction, or technical services industries.
  • Demonstrated success developing new business and expanding strategic customer relationships.
  • Experience selling complex, project-based solutions or technical service offerings.
  • Strong understanding of long sales cycles, consultative selling, and enterprise-level account management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to influence executive-level stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Highly organized with strong strategic planning and business development skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
  • Willingness to travel as business needs require.
