    Job Description

    Plans, organizes and carries-out strategic sales and lead generation within assigned territory. Develops and maintains new client business relationships to increase the adoption of provider network and on-site clinics for self-insured employers; and occupational health services and wellness services for fully-insured and self-insured employers. Cross sells and expands opportunities to existing clients.

    Job Responsibility

    1.Promotes awareness and use of products and services to prospective organizations including self-insured and full-insured employers throughout the New York metropolitan area.
    2.Work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
    3.Regularly exercises independent judgment when selecting methods, techniques for obtaining results, and making recommendations to clients.
    4.Plans, organizes and carries-out presentations and group events for executives, benefit plan managers, brokers and general agents.
    5.Identifies areas for possible improvements and addresses problems within scope of responsibility.
    6.Establishes, builds and maintains positive, professional relationships and interaction at all decision levels.
    7.Maintains a highly credible and professional profile within the industry to promote excellent customer and broker experience.
    8.Maintaining relationship with clients through:
    •Identifying customer’s needs,
    •Working with Northwell Health resources to craft a solution proposal,
    •Continuing use of Northwell Direct products and services through knowledgeable use of comparisons and contrasts with other providers,
    •Providing after-sales service.
    9.Coordinates sales related efforts between client human resource departments and the various Northwell Health departments.
    10.Acts as a resource to implement and organize Northwell Direct projects and opportunities.
    11.Manages communication and training needs for new group onboarding process with client.
    12.Work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitutude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
    13.Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure that results and objectives have been met.
    14.Communicates issues, concerns and problems in a solution oriented manner.
    15.Maintains related records.

    Job Qualification

    •Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, required.  Knowledge of Marketing and Sales concepts, required.
    •Minimum of 3-5 years progressively related sales experience including experience with products, services, operations, customer service, marketing and sales techniques.
    •May have some functional supervision duties and tasks (e.g. project management)
    •Solid Microsoft based experience with presentation applications, required.
    •Strong verbal and written communication skills, required.
    •Payer, occupational health or wellness services experience preferred.
    •Combined Sales & Account management experience preferred

    Preferences: 

    • Proven track record in large client retention and growth who possess strong relationship-building skills, demonstrate client advocacy, deliver exceptional customer service, and employ a consultative, proactive client engagement approach
    • Prefer a comprehensive understanding of group health benefits across various plan types (self-funded preferred), ancillary benefits, and crucially, familiarity with NY State health insurance regulations, and ACA compliance to navigate the complex NY landscape
    • Prefer individual with superior verbal and written communication abilities, capable of delivering compelling presentations, and acting as an active listener to effectively translate complex health insurance information and secure favorable terms for both client and Northwell Direct
    • Target results-driven, achievement-oriented candidates who possess strong business acumen, can manage financial implications, understand financial literacy related to premiums and claims based on large data sets
