Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking a Chief Technical Architect for the Mission Data Management (MDM) Operating Unit (OU). The preferred location for this position is the Northrop Grumman Orlando, FL office; however, candidates will also be considered that are located at (or can relocate to) the Beavercreek, OH or Hollywood, MD offices. This position is the nexus of Business Development, Strategy, and Technology for the MDM OU, and includes the following responsibilities:

  • Managing Internal Research and Development (IRAD) efforts for the OU, to include IRAD proposals, planning, and oversight.
  • Leading cross organization technical collaboration on IRAD and captures (cross BU, Division, Sector).
  • Ensuring the technical vision and roadmap for the OU are aligned to Business Unit (BU), Division, and Sector technology interests and strategic objectives.
  • Ensuring that required processes and procedures are followed to ensure technical solutions across the OU meet quality standards.
  • Consulting or leading technical solutioning for capture efforts and participating in proposal development and reviews.
  • Ensuring appropriate collaboration between Chief Engineers across the OU and the programs that they represent.
  • Will be the primary technical focal point for the OU Engineering Lead and the OU Director.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree with a minimum of 14 years of experience - OR a master's degree with a minimum of 12 years of experience - OR a PhD with a minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Active DoD Secret or higher security clearance with ability to get TS/SCI clearance (U.S. Citizenship is a prerequisite).
  • Experience leading or participating in the responses to 5+ proposal solicitations.
  • IRAD planning / execution experience.
  • Experience deploying solutions across multiple programs and encouraging cross-program knowledge sharing.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership skills, decisiveness, and ability to make sound technical judgments with limited information.
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop relevant solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with technical and business leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • Advanced degree in STEM or technical management
  • Experience architecting solutions to meet DoD requirements.
  • Experience leading the responses to proposal solicitations, including architecture definition, BOE generation, and written volume creation.
  • Experience with program audits and subsequent responses.
  • Experience with BAAs and RFI responses.
  • Experience coordinating with external subcontractors and suppliers.
Primary Level Salary Range: $166,500.00 - $289,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
