We are currently sourcing for a System Engineer to work in Westlake TX or Merrimack NH.
The Role
Our Application Systems Engineering Support Group within Enterprise Infrastructure combines Operations Perfection with the Development Experience to deliver services at high scale, high availability with resilience by using automation and Infrastructure Code. We build reliability into our ecosystem by applying standard processes in Resiliency Engineering, Automation and Observability.
Team
The team comes from diverse technical backgrounds, and the responsibilities provide the opportunity for a variety of challenges. Ideal candidates will have a background in either systems engineering or software engineering with a desire to learn and understand the other or previous experience as a systems engineer or SRE. We are looking for a Systems Thinking Leader who has helped teams scale through production insights, operational automation, developer mentorship, real-time metrics, and automation.
The Expertise You Have

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technology related field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) required, Masters' degree a plus.
• 7-8+ years of hands-on experience deploying and/or supporting highly distributed multi-tiered systems at scale.
• Highly experienced managing technology environment stability and availability.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices.
• Demonstrated expertise of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and principles.
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies, delivery projects, and implementation.
• Knowledge of basic networking (ping, traceroute, DNS)
• Hands on experience with search and analytics engines (Splunk, DataDog...)
• Hands on experience with Linux/UNIX and Windows operating systems
• Experience with workflow design, data analysis, and requirements identification/specification
• Experience with cloud-based technologies including SaaS solutions in the cloud and AWS/AZURE
• Hands-on experience with container orchestration, preferably with Kubernetes
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and associated technologies
• Experience with PowerShell and Python scripting
• Production support experience with financial systems
• Demonstrated creative and abstract thinking.
• Ability to triage, complete root cause analysis, and be decisive under pressure.
• Experience of docker, cloud-computing / cloud services platforms (e.g., AWS or Azure)
• AWS Certification a plus
