    Job description

    Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is hiring a Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Program Engineer in Washington, DC. Qualified candidates must be U.S

    citizens and be able to successfully pass a background investigation. Responsibilities: Support the Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations Unmanned Aircraft System Program Management Office Provide technical and systems evaluation of new systems, including UAS aircraft, sensors and communications systems. Develop Statements of Work (SOW), equipment lists, and technical data packages.

    Review final technical documentation, including specifications, engineering reports, and maintenance and user manuals. Perform unmanned aircraft test planning, range coordination, data collection and analysis. Provide post-test reporting, documentation, and briefing of test results of ground and flight tests and evaluations of aircraft and aircraft systems and sensors.

    Provide strategic guidance to CBP personnel as it pertains to maritime applications, increased weather capability, sensor development for maritime, border, and special location applications, improving UAS mission effectiveness, and modelling and simulation. Serve as a UAS program facilitator/ambassador to other governmental agencies requiring UAS services and/or operating UAS programs. Required Qualifications: 12-15 years of work experience supporting Manned or Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) acquisition process.

    Prior experience in engineering and logistics for DOD/DHS programs. Prior experience with aircraft flight testing. Requirements Analysis and Management experience.

    Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) Documentation experience. Professional, effective communication and presentation skills, both oral and written. DoD Programming, Planning, and Budgeting experience.

    Education Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering is a must. Certifications Desired: DAWIA Level III in Systems Planning, Research, Development and Test and Engineering, OR DAWIA Level II in Career Field Life Cycle Logistics. Clearance Requirements: Qualified candidates must be US Citizens and successfully pass a CBP Background Investigation.

    The pay range for this position is $100,000/year to $170,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
