Job description

SUMMARY

The Powered Electric Maintenance Technician Provides First Line Support for all Production Machinery and Assembly Machinery.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Plans equipment Preventative Maintenance schedules, shutdowns, and repairs with management
  • Controls equipment downtime, Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and organization/housekeeping improvements
  • Produces a daily and monthly activity report
  • Controls equipment materials and spare parts accuracy for items under repair
  • Carries out the Time-Based Maintenance Preventive Maintenance module in SAP system
  • Reports results and improvement plans for Maintenance activities
  • Collaborate with Engineering for new equipment installation
  • Reviews and supports the efficient maintenance of equipment, provides weekly and monthly reports
  • Reviews weekend plans, shutdown plans, Preventive Maintenance plans, one-point lessons, and the maintenance manual
  • Ensures accuracy of equipment materials and spare parts
  • Provides detailed lists of equipment inconsistencies with countermeasures
  • Supports and updates improvements to equipment and parts repairs
  • Supports and conduct troubleshooting for equipment failures
  • Creates a breakdown repair equipment manual for future repairs
  • Assesses and coordinates departmental training needs and develops training plans
  • Maintains Personal Protective Equipment per OSHA and Mobis Alabama standards
  • Complies with and promotes safety in the workplace, to include attendance at safety meetings; conducts safety meetings when necessary
  • Supports the Maintenance Supervisor as needed

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2–5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or production environment.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems, basic electrical troubleshooting, and routine equipment upkeep
  • Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TMP) techniques
  • Knowledge of both hand tools and Power tools
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Working Knowledge of Schematics and Electrical Systems
  • Working Knowledge of Servo Motors and Controls
  • Working Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance Practices
  • Working Knowledge of Hydraulic Presses.
  • Knowledge of centrifugal Pumps
  • Welding to include SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW
  • Safe work practices including LOTO

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Technical Degree from an Accredited Institution preferred
  • Automotive manufacturing experience
  • Experience with SAP
  • Knowledge of production Robotics
  • Knowledge of conveyor systems
  • Familiar with Lean work practices
