    Job description

    Job Responsibilities
    1. Establishes standards and policies for installation, modification, testing, operating procedures, inspection, and maintenance of equipment according to engineering principles and safety regulations.
    2. Programs, troubleshoots, and maintains PLCs (programmable logic controllers) and other forms of industrial automation.
    3. Provides technical support to other departments regarding process and/or equipment changes.
    4. Installs wiring circuits, switches, controls, and other electronic devices in accordance with specifications.
    5. Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems and makes necessary repairs in a timely fashion to reduce downtime.
    6. Identifies areas where operations can be improved and made more efficient. Carries out solutions to repair or upgrade equipment for improved operations.
    7. Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines.
    8. Performs lock out/tag out procedures, utilizes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and adheres to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and guidelines.
    9. Other duties as assigned.

    Job Skills Requirements
    • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and schematics.

    • Strong knowledge of electromechanical codes, standards, and safety practices.

    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to the highest quality workmanship.

    • Physical stamina to work in various positions for extended periods.

    • Advanced knowledge of pneumatic, wiring, and hydraulic systems.

    Educational Requirements
    • Associate's degree or technical certification required.

    Experience Requirements
    • Five years professional electromechanical experience in the manufacturing industry.

    • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

    Physical & Environmental Requirements
    • Some physical demand. Often lifts light to heavy-weight material. Frequent lifting/moving average weight (up to 50 lbs/11-27 kgs) material.

    • Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling, and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours).

    • Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours).

    • Ability to stand and / or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8-12 hours).
