Job description

The Electrical Engineering position supporting Hybrid SATCOM is responsible for supporting the research, design, development, integration, and testing of electrical systems and related technologies for aircraft, spacecraft, missiles, satellites, and other aerospace platforms. This role contributes to the development and evaluation of electrical components and subsystems, including power distribution, communications, guidance and control, and other mission-critical systems throughout the full system life cycle. Responsibilities include supporting system integration, performance analysis, testing, and troubleshooting activities to ensure technical solutions meet operational requirements and program objectives. The position requires strong technical expertise in SATCOM architectures, RF communications, electrical systems, and network integration to support mission-critical communication capabilities.
This role works to achieve key project and program deliverables while managing projects or processes that span multiple technical disciplines. The Electrical Engineering professional develops solutions to complex technical challenges affecting multiple systems or functional areas and applies innovative engineering approaches to improve system performance, reliability, and integration. The position requires strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to collaborate across engineering and program teams to deliver effective solutions that support mission and organizational success.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and integrate electrical systems and subsystems supporting Hybrid SATCOM architectures, including RF, networking, power, and communication interfaces.
  • Perform system analysis, design validation, and performance optimization for satellite communication systems operating across commercial and military networks.
  • Develop and maintain electrical schematics, interface control documents, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications in accordance with program requirements.
  • Support integration and testing of SATCOM hardware, RF components, modems, antennas, and network communication equipment.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for electrical and communication system issues in laboratory and operational environments.
  • Collaborate with systems, network, software, and RF engineers to ensure interoperability and end-to-end Hybrid SATCOM system performance.
  • Perform verification, validation, and qualification testing of electrical and communication systems to ensure compliance with technical, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Support development and implementation of secure and resilient SATCOM solutions, including redundancy, failover, and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Analyze system performance data and generate technical reports, test procedures, and engineering recommendations to support program execution and customer requirements.
  • Participate in technical reviews, design reviews, and customer meetings to communicate engineering solutions, risks, and program status.
  • Support system integration and troubleshooting of hardware issues
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop technical solutions
  • Analyze test data and recommend design improvements
  • Contribute to technical documentation, design reviews, and reporting

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Master's degree with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of related experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Knowledge of Hybrid SATCOM architectures, including military and commercial satellite communication networks, RF principles, antennas, modems, and communication protocols.
  • Experience with systems integration, troubleshooting, verification and validation, and technical documentation for electrical and communication systems.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to technical decision-making
  • Top Secret/SCI Clearance is required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting DoD, aerospace, or defense SATCOM programs in operational or deployed environments.
  • Knowledge of military SATCOM systems, secure communications, tactical networks, and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Experience with RF testing equipment, spectrum analysis, link budget analysis, and satellite network performance optimization.
  • Professional certifications related to SATCOM, networking, RF engineering, or systems engineering (e.g., CCNA, INCOSE, Security+, or related certifications).
  • Experience with RF systems or Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
  • Proficiency in hardware design and development tools
  • Experience supporting product development or system integration
  • Strong understanding of signal integrity, noise reduction, and system performance

Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00
