The Assistant Controller plays a key role in executing accounting operations, supporting consolidation and reporting activities, and driving consistency across business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements for completeness and accuracy
- Assist in preparation of consolidated financial statements and internal management reporting
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies
- Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting, including SOX-related controls where applicable
- Partner with business unit finance teams to ensure consistent accounting practices across the organization
- Assist with external and internal audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor requests
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes through collaboration with FP&A and operational teams
- Drive process improvements in accounting operations, systems, and reporting workflows
- Participate in finance transformation initiatives, including system implementations and standardization efforts
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- CPA required or actively pursuing certification
- 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting experience preferred
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, or multi-entity environments preferred
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and advanced Excel skills required
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and analytical skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Process improvement mindset with focus on scalability and efficiency
