    Job description

    Gate & Automation Service Technician

    Direct Hire | $25–$32/hr + Prevailing-Wage Opportunities | Monday–Friday

Kelly Services is hiring an experienced Gate & Automation Service Technician for a growing commercial and residential gate automation operation.

If you enjoy troubleshooting equipment, working independently in the field, and solving a different technical problem every day, this could be a great next move. You’ll work with automated gates, access control systems, motors, operators, safety devices, and related equipment while joining an established company that is actively expanding its gate automation division.

This is a direct-hire opportunity with long-term growth potential and the chance to get involved with a newer division as it continues to build.

    Why You'll Want This Job
    • $25–$32 per hour, based on experience

    • Potential to earn more on prevailing-wage projects

    • Direct-hire position

    • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

    • Variety of commercial and residential service work

    • Independent field position with plenty of hands-on troubleshooting

    • Opportunity to work on advanced gate and access control systems

    • Join a growing division with room for advancement

    • Work for an established company while helping expand a newer service operation

    What You'll Work On

You’ll diagnose, service, repair, and maintain a wide variety of automated gate and access control systems, including:

    • Slide, swing, cantilever, vertical-lift, barrier-arm, and crash-rated gates

    • Gate operators, motors, and control boards

    • Safety loops, photo eyes, and other safety devices

    • Keypads, intercoms, telephone entry, and access control equipment

    • High-security and commercial gate systems

    • Electrical and low-voltage components

You’ll also perform preventive maintenance, support system upgrades and new installations, and help customers get their equipment back up and running when problems occur.

Some emergency service work is required, including participation in an after-hours and weekend on-call rotation.

    What We're Looking For

We'd love to talk with you if you have:

    • 2+ years of hands-on automated gate experience

    • Strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities

    • Experience diagnosing electrical and low-voltage systems

    • Basic knowledge of 120V/240V electrical systems

    • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer documentation

    • Confidence working independently in the field

    • Strong customer service and communication skills

    • A valid driver's license and clean driving record

    • A safety-first, dependable work style

Experience with brands such as LiftMaster, DoorKing, HySecurity, FAAC, Nice, Viking, Linear, or similar equipment is a major plus.

Additional experience with UL 325 standards, access control systems, commercial or HOA properties, high-security gates, welding, or fabrication is also valuable.

    Ready for Your Next Move?

If you’re an experienced gate technician looking for steady weekday hours, competitive pay, varied field work, and an opportunity to grow with an expanding service division, we want to hear from you.

Candidates must be able to successfully complete a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen, including marijuana.

Apply today to learn more about this direct-hire Gate & Automation Service Technician opportunity with Kelly Services.
