About the Position:
We are seeking a Staff Cloud Engineering Consultant (internal title) who will be instrumental in guiding clients through their cloud migration, modernization, and transformation journey, leveraging the power of AWS, along with complementary ISVs like Snowflake, and AI. This role serves as an Advanced Individual Contributor within the Cloud organization, providing senior-level technical depth across pre-sales, cloud migration strategy, modernization, and emerging GenAI/Bedrock opportunities. It requires a balance of deep technical expertise, strategic business insight, and consulting prowess to help clients innovate, optimize, and transform their business operations through modern cloud technologies and AI-driven solutions. The Staff Cloud Engineering Consultant will partner with sales, practice leadership, and delivery teams to shape complex client solutions, support enterprise migration initiatives, and strengthen Ippon's market credibility through deep technical expertise.
Roles and Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture & Technical Strategy

  • Provide deep expertise in AWS MAP programs, migration frameworks, and modernization pathways including rehost, replatform, and refactor strategies

  • Architect and design cloud-native solutions that optimize performance, cost, and security while ensuring alignment with clients' strategic goals and product roadmap, with strong emphasis on networking, IAM, governance, resiliency, and compliance

  • Evaluate and recommend the most effective AWS cloud solutions and AI technologies for each project, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-efficiency

  • Identify and mitigate potential architectural and technological risks in cloud deployments, ensuring the implementation of secure, resilient, and scalable solutions

  • Serve as a senior technical advisor for Bedrock, GenAI, and cloud-native innovation opportunities, helping clients evaluate practical enterprise AI adoption

  • Promote AWS best practices and standards in architecture, security, and deployment

  • Document architectures, assessments, and recommendations in detailed, actionable reports that provide clear, business-aligned strategies for cloud adoption and AI integration

  • Help shape Ippon's cloud and AI go-to-market strategy by identifying repeatable offerings, accelerators, and strategic partnership opportunities

Client Engagement & Solution Consulting

  • Lead technical discovery, assessments, and solution architecture for cloud migration and modernization opportunities across AWS and Azure environments

  • Support pre-sales engagements by translating client business needs into scalable technical strategies, solution designs, and Statements of Work

  • Support clients in developing cloud architecture strategies centered on AWS, aligning these solutions with clients' business objectives to drive innovation, scalability, and efficiency

  • Support clients in developing migration and modernization journeys, leveraging AWS programs like MAP, the Well-Architected Framework, or Immersion Days

  • Collaborate with client stakeholders to understand their business challenges and objectives, ensuring that solutions are tailored to address real business needs while leveraging cutting-edge AWS services

Thought Leadership & Team Development

  • Stay ahead of industry trends in the AWS portfolio, complementary ISVs, and cloud computing, driving innovation by sharing knowledge with clients and internal teams

  • Be a visible thought leader by authoring blogs, presenting at industry conferences, and leading internal and external knowledge-sharing initiatives

  • Collaborate across teams to enhance and expand the organization's cloud architecture capabilities

  • Mentor consultants and engineers through technical leadership, architecture reviews, and best practice guidance

Competencies We Are Looking For:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of cloud engineering, or architecture experience with emphasis on migrations, modernization, and enterprise cloud strategy

  • 5+ years of consulting experience with the ability to translate technical solutions into business value for diverse stakeholders

  • 5+ years of expertise in AWS (required) with AWS MAP, landing zones, security, networking, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible)

  • 5+ years of team leadership experience, including mentoring and coaching, leading solution design, and leading delivery of complex cloud projects

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex cloud and AI solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus seamlessly across tasks and projects

  • Ability to travel occasionally for client meetings or industry events

  • AWS Solutions Architect Professional or equivalent advanced certification preferred or expected

  • Demonstrated experience supporting technical pre-sales, solution shaping, and enterprise consulting engagements

  • Experience with Amazon Bedrock, GenAI architecture patterns, or enterprise AI/ML modernization initiatives

  • Deep knowledge of cloud security, IAM, governance, resiliency, and compliance frameworks

  • Strong scripting and automation experience (Python, Bash, or similar)

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cloud Engineering, or a related field preferred

  • Experience in AI-driven cloud solutions and applying AI/ML technologies to enhance cloud architectures

  • Proven expertise in AWS services and partner programs

  • Experience with AWS data pipeline/ETL tools and integration with Snowflake

  • Consulting experience in regulated industries such as Financial Services, Healthcare, or Public Sector
