Job description

Description
We're looking for an experienced and energetic AI Research & Operations Analyst Lead to lead and mentor our team of Associate AI Research & Operations Analysts. You'll be the connective tissue between cutting-edge AI experimentation and real-world business execution - mentoring a team of 5-10 analysts, scoping incoming AI requests from across the organization, and rolling up your sleeves to help explore and answer technical and operational questions regarding GenAI.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is equally comfortable in a 1:1 coaching session, collaborating with different stakeholders, and a debugging session. You'll help shape how Internet Brands adopts and scales AI across its portfolio.
What You'll Do:
  • Team Leadership & Development
  • Directly lead and mentor 5-10 Associate AI Research & Operations Analysts, providing day-to-day guidance and conceptual framing of the individual work assignments.
  • Model strong communication practices and help the team translate business needs into structured, actionable plans.
  • Step in and directly assist the various projects when the situation becomes confusing. In other words, help define the path forward when needed.
  • Partner closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to identify high-impact AI opportunities and drive adoption of AI solutions across the organization.
  • Ensure team outputs - prototypes, evaluations, automation builds, and documentation - meet a high standard of quality and business relevance.

About You:
Required
  • 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering, technical analyst, or project management, with meaningful exposure to web application development (front-end, back-end, or full-stack).
  • 1+ years of experience managing, leading, or formally mentoring a team of individual contributors.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience working with generative AI tools, platforms, or applications - including practical use of LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google), prompt engineering, and building or evaluating AI-powered agents and workflows.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills - able to build trust with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitate productive conversations, and deliver clear written and verbal updates.
  • Demonstrated ability to scope ambiguous requests: asking the right questions, identifying constraints, and breaking work into executable pieces.
  • Experience triaging and problem-solving complex technical or operational issues, including helping others get unstuck.
  • Highly organized and comfortable managing a team workload across multiple concurrent projects.

Bonus Points
  • Experience in data science or a closely related field, with comfort working with structured and unstructured data, drawing analytical insights, and applying quantitative thinking to business problems..
  • Background in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment such as a tech company, digital media, or SaaS organization.
  • Experience defining team processes, rituals, or operating norms from scratch.

Why You'll Love This Role:
  • Build something meaningful. You'll shape how a large, multi-brand organization integrates AI into its day-to-day operations - and you'll lead the team that executes on that vision.
  • Grow great people. Your analysts are early in their careers and hungry to learn. You'll have a direct and lasting impact on how they develop as AI practitioners.
  • Stay technical and aware of the latest developments in the GenAI industry. This isn't a purely administrative management role. You'll stay close to the work, engage with real problems, and continue growing your own skills alongside your team.
  • Operate with scope and visibility. You'll have a seat at the table in cross-functional discussions and real influence over how AI investments are prioritized across Internet Brands.

At Internet Brands, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the compensation for this role to range from low to mid 100ks and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
In addition to our awesome culture, we offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the health and well-being of you and your family. Our benefits include health insurance options such as medical, dental, and vision coverage, flexible spending accounts (FSA) for medical and dependent care, short-term and long-term disability insurance, and life and AD&D insurance. We also provide a 401(k) retirement savings plan with a company match, paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, commuter benefits as well as access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and well-being coaching services. In addition, employees can take advantage of voluntary benefits such as home, auto and pet insurance, and discounted legal and financial services. For more details, feel free to inquire during the interview process.
