Job Summary
The Inventory Control Coordinator will play a critical role in managing inbound and outbound stock transport orders, raw materials, and in-process inventory. This position supports Manufacturing, Logistics/Distribution, and Planning by driving inventory accuracy through routine cycle counting, aliquoting, discrepancy investigations, and process improvements. The role requires hands-on lab experience, including pipetting and handling liquid inventory, with strong attention to detail and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain bulk inventories, ensuring accuracy of both paper and electronic records; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Perform cycle counts of bulk and liquid inventories; assist with discrepancy investigations outside of preset tolerances.
Aliquot and handle liquid inventory using standard lab practices, including pipetting.
Provide materials for manufacturing and internal customers as directed by Production Planners or management.
Support the implementation of departmental policies, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Contribute to process improvements, warehouse efficiency, and systematic inventory accuracy.
Adhere to BD Biosciences Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) policies; promptly report unsafe conditions and support EH&S programs.
Perform other related duties as required.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2–4 years of experience in inventory management, materials distribution, shipping/receiving, or manufacturing.
Biotech or laboratory work experience required, including pipetting and aliquoting.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other software; SAP experience preferred.
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement tools is a plus.
Knowledge & Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Familiarity with logistics, manufacturing, and production planning.
Effective cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.
ERP experience preferred.
Self-motivated with solid business acumen.
Work Environment
Mixed laboratory and warehouse setting.
Requires routine handling of liquid inventory and lab-based materials.
