RN: Clinic Traveler - Rural Health Outpatient Clinic Location: Pagosa Springs Medical Center - Pagosa Springs, Colorado Department: Rural Health Clinic Position: RN: Clinic Traveler (2 Openings) Contract Length: 13 Weeks (extension options available) Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10-hour day shifts (40 hours/week) Call: None Weekend Requirement: None Holiday Requirement: None EMR: Cerner (Required) Start Date: ASAP Position Summary Pagosa Springs Medical Center is seeking two experienced Registered Nurse travelers to join our Rural Health Clinic team. The Clinic RN serves as a key member of a team-based primary care model, collaborating closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, medical assistants, LPNs, and support staff to provide high-quality outpatient care. The RN assists with patient triage, care coordination, patient education, medication management, chronic disease management, and clinical support services while helping ensure an exceptional patient experience. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care within the outpatient clinic setting. Perform patient assessments, triage, care planning, treatment implementation, and follow-up. Manage patient phone calls, portal messages, and nursing advice using established protocols. Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and other clinic-based treatments. Perform point-of-care testing and CLIA-waived laboratory procedures. Coordinate care with providers, specialists, and ancillary departments. Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record. Support quality improvement initiatives and patient engagement efforts. Serve as a clinical resource for patients and clinic staff. Required Qualifications Current Colorado RN license or active compact RN license in good standing. Current AHA BLS certification. Minimum two (2) years of recent clinical nursing experience. Cerner EMR experience required. Strong assessment, triage, patient education, and care coordination skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment. Preferred Qualifications Previous Rural Health Clinic, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or Primary Care experience. Experience with immunizations, medication administration, and nursing triage. CLIA-waived laboratory testing experience. Experience supporting quality initiatives and patient engagement programs.
