Job description

Job Summary:
Hewlett Packard Enterprise is the global edge-to-cloud company advancing the way people live and work. They are seeking a Senior Systems Software Engineer who will be responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging software programs, as well as mentoring junior engineers and providing expertise to project teams.
Responsibilities:
• Understand the newly designed features and discuss with the development and PLM team for any clarification.
• Develop, review and execute test plans within predefined timelines
• File Jira tickets on failed test cases and bugs found and closely work with developers to reproduce issues and validate fixes for closure
• Suggest product enhancements to make the product better.
• Analyze logs and pinpoint root causes for issues seen during validation
• Join related QA meetings and participate in discussions and provide status.
• Reproduce and support any POC/customer issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and help in code reviews
• Provide TOIs to the team on features validated and any queries in the areas of expertise.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 6+ years of experience as a test engineer with specialized experience in the below areas working on different protocols and tools.
• Knowledge in L3/Layer 3 protocols of at least 4 years.
• More than one L3 layer and services: OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS, LDP, RSVP, L3VPN, L2VPN, Segment Routing.
• Experience in Traffic Generation Tools Spirent or IXIA.
• Strong coding skills preferably with Python and Robot.
• Candidate should have experience with python fundamentals, data structures, hands-on knowledge with coding libraries and automation scripts for validation.
• Experience reviewing logs and ability to troubleshoot using logs.
• Bachelors or Masters in the field of Electronics/Computer Science engineering or for the qualified candidate work experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Preferred:
• Knowledge in more than one L2 layer technologies and traffic generator: VLAN, DHCP, STP, VXLAN.
• Exposure to agile methodologies and JIRA system.
• API and UI based testing experience will be a plus point.
• Networking certifications from Juniper/Cisco is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and associated technologies.
