    Job description

    Job Description
    • Under general supervision, applies functional specifications and uses engineering tools to design analogue and digital electronic circuits and/or firmware for downhole, subsea and surface interface systems
    • Uses software tools or applications to analyse and conduct tests on electronic circuits or systems and document performance in comparison with design criteria
    • Identifies the testing requirement at a system level with the emphasis on complying with test standards and Halliburton's Health, Safety, and Environment procedures and evaluates test results
    • Independent preparation of component specifications, design documentation and preparation for design reviews
    • Contributes to reliability analysis such as risk assessments and Failure Mode Effects Analysis by compiling and examining data
    • Contributes to Halliburton's Intellectual Property portfolio by preparing Invention Disclosures and recognizing ideas that have IP potential without disclosing confidential information
    • Works as integral part of multi-discipline team including Electronics Hardware Engineering, Project Management, Mechanical Engineering, assembly and test, and Software teams
    Qualifications
    • Skills acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline with a minimum of 2 years' experience. Completion of a Masters in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline is preferred
    • Experienced in Analogue and Digital electronics design 
    • Experienced in Software/Firmware design, particularly Embedded C programming on microcontrollers 
    • Experienced in Troubleshooting and diagnose prototype and production tools 
    • Experienced in Design of electronic test programmes 
    • Experienced in Specification of electromechanical systems 
    • Experienced in PCB schematic capture and layout design using Altium software or similar 
    • Experienced in High temperature and rugged electronic design
     

    Candidates with qualifications exceeding the minimum job requirements will be considered for higher-level positions based on their experience, additional job requirements, and current business needs. Depending on their education, experience, and skill level, candidates may be eligible for a range of job opportunities, including R&D Electrical Engineer.
