The Clients and Markets Lead -Canada Central is a Regional leadership role and part of the Canada Central Leadership Team. The role is focused on driving the strategy, vision, growth, and performance of the markets and business development functions across the three Provinces: Ontario, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. This position involves ongoing collaboration with partners across Canada, the U.S., and globally to support GHD's market growth. The Clients and Markets Lead will work closely with the National Market and Sector Leads as well as the other Canada Central Regional Market Leaders in Environment, Transportation, Energy and Resources, Water, and Property & Buildings. Key collaborators in this role also include the Regional General Manager, Operations Managers, Sector Leaders, Business Group Leaders, Client Relationship Managers, and Service Line Leaders.

This role's primary responsibilities are to develop and execute the growth plan and strategic vision for the markets across Central Canada, while also contributing to the broader Canadian growth strategy. With a focus on driving growth in private and public sectors, the role emphasizes delivering sustainable, profitable outcomes, fostering innovation, and advancing GHD's business. The Clients and Markets Lead will work on positioning GHD strategically through differentiated value propositions, thought leadership, and strategic partnerships. Leading the development of proposals that support growth and diversification of the markets, this leader will also ensure alignment with GHD's core values and global growth strategy.

Key responsibilities also include fostering cross-market collaboration to execute complex, multi-market, multi-discipline projects, supporting talent development, and leading large-scale initiatives as Project Director where needed.  This role will include strong client leadership responsibilities for key client accounts across the markets.

In this dynamic role, you will be involved in:

• Further develop GHD's Canada Central business strategy, with a focus on long-term opportunities that align with GHD's growth aspirations
• Leading business development efforts for Canada Central while collaborating with global, national and regional leaders to build a unified approach
• Understanding the broad market trends and Provincial investment with a forward-looking strategy toward future projects and emerging technologies across the markets.
• Identify areas of practice within the Region, based on client feedback and/or market trends (service lines) that require enhancement to meet present or future opportunities
• Strengthening relationships with new and existing clients, while expanding GHD's presence in the market across Canada Central, and the Americas, consistent with GHD's enterprise strategy and business plans. 
• Providing leadership on key client accounts across all markets
• Supporting effective project delivery as a Project Director, ensuring successful outcomes on projects
• Collaborating with other Market Leaders and Client Managers across sectors such as Environment, Transportation, Water, Energy and Resources, and Property & Buildings to win multidisciplinary projects
• Representing GHD at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, while elevating GHD's brand.
• Attracting top talent to grow and strengthen the capabilities at GHD
• Understanding macro-economic trends within Canada Central and ensuring GHD is positioned to respond and win as these trends evolve

Performance:

• Achieve sustainable, profitable growth of the Central Canadia Markets, grow revenue and pipeline, in line with Canadian and global growth strategies
• Drive diversification of the market offerings
• Lead the Clients and Markets Business Group, championing Health, Safety, Welfare, and Quality to exceed the expectations of the broader business
• Represent the Clients and Markets of Central Canada at the Central Canadian Leadership team, including being responsible regular market pipeline updates, Voice of the Client and Client Optimization 
• Develop a strong project pipeline using business intelligence tools such as Salesforce
• Manage risks and opportunities in the markets, ensuring strategic recruitment and talent development
• Improve tender/proposal success rates and ensure effective budget management
• Champion an integrated market approach across GHD's various service offerings

What you bring to the team:

• A strong background in Engineering, or a related field, with at least 15 years of experience leading large projects and teams 
• Proven experience in developing and operationalizing successful growth strategies across multiple markets and geographies
• Demonstrated, deep understanding of Central Canada's markets, including trends, future challenges, and opportunities across Canada
• Broad technical and delivery experience across multiple markets
• Strong leadership and collaboration experience, demonstrable experience of leading a high performing team
• Deep industry connections across key Provincial Agencies or Ministries
• Deep industry partner connections across contractors and consultants working across Central Canada
• Outstanding leadership and communication skills, with experience managing teams and influencing stakeholders across all levels of the organization
• Commercial acumen with a strong focus on client relationships, growth, and service excellence
• Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and thought leadership
• Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM software is a plus
• Strong writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly

While this opportunity is open to applicants globally, the successful candidate will be required to maintain a strong presence within the Canada Central market and be based from one of GHD's Ontario offices (Markham, Mississauga, Toronto, Whitby, or Waterloo). Regular travel across Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and other GHD locations will be expected.
