Job Description SummaryGE Vernova's Power Conversion and Storage Solutions business provides the technology and systems that enable the electrification and decarbonization of the world's most critical infrastructure, including Marine propulsion, industrial processes, and grid stabilization and storage. We deliver high-power, reliable, and efficient solutions that help our customers transition to a more sustainable energy future.
The Senior OT Cyber Security Engineer will be a key leader in ensuring the security of our high-power operational technology (OT) solutions across the entire project lifecycle—from initial sales support and costing to hands-on development, rigorous testing, and project execution. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project leadership, and commercial acumen to integrate industry-leading cybersecurity into complex, mission-critical systems deployed in Marine, Industry, and Grid applications for the GE Vernova Power Conversion and Storage Solutions we provide.
The required work location is Findlay Township, PA (financial assistance provided if not already local). Job Description

The Mission:

As GE Vernova electrifies the world’s most critical infrastructure, security cannot be an afterthought—it must be a foundational design principle. You will join the Power Conversion and Storage Solutions team as our technical authority, bridging the gap between mission-critical OT systems and the modern cyber threat landscape.

You won’t just "audit" security; you will architect the cyber-resilience of the energy transition, influencing product development, project delivery, and commercial proposals. In this role, you provide the breakthrough innovation that ensures our grid, marine, and industrial solutions remain reliable, efficient, and resilient against an evolving global threat environment.

The Impact You Will Make:

  • Architect Resilience: Design and integrate advanced cyber-security controls directly into GE Vernova’s proprietary high-power electronics, energy storage, and substation automation platforms.
  • Commercial Leadership: Partner with our Inquiry to Order (ITO) teams to articulate the value of our security offerings, providing accurate cost estimates and technical advocacy to secure major project wins.
  • Technical Authority: Serve as the primary security expert for internal teams, partners, and customers, ensuring projects remain compliant with global standards like IEC 62443, NERC-CIP, and ABS Marine Cyber Rules.
  • Lifecycle Execution: Lead the security roadmap for major projects—from costing and initial system design to penetration testing and final project commissioning.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related field from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in Operational Technology (OT) or Industrial Control Systems (ICS) cyber security.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Knowledge of recognized IT & OT Security-related standards and technologies
  • Deep technical understanding of IEC 61850 standards, architecture, and protocols (MMS, GOOSE, SMV), and the associated security standard IEC 62351.
  • Experience in securing devices and communications within an IEC 61850-based Substation or Distributed Energy Resource (DER) network.
  • Cyber Security Certification(s) such as CISSP, GICSP, CISM, or relevant vendor certifications.
  • Deep understanding of security standards such as IEC 62443 (all parts), NERC-CIP, or DNV/ABS Marine Cyber Rules.
  • Hands-on experience with control systems (e.g., PLCs, DCS), SCADA, and real-time operating systems.
  • Experience with software development and scripting for security tooling and automation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for both technical and commercial audiences.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required for project support and customer engagement

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 and $188,800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus. This posting is expected to remain open for at least seven days after it was posted on August 21, 2026.
