Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Learn and assist with daily in-house plastic fabrication.
  • Read and work from drawings, schematics, and job specs.
  • Perform metal and plastic fabrication and welding, including:
    • PVC, CPVC, PP, PVDF
    • Stainless steel and carbon steel
  • Assist with in-field plastic repairs and installation.
  • Work with materials containing or in proximity to hazardous chemicals.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and system issues.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Travel to customer sites throughout New England
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe job site

Requirements:

  • Experience working in industrial or process environments
  • Hands-on knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
    • Chemical process piping
    • Industrial electrical systems
    • Metal welding and fabrication – TIG/MIG
    • Plastic welding and fabrication
    • Industrial water or wastewater treatment systems
  • Ability to read and follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Basic computer and writing skills for job reporting and communication
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and technical documents
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight jobs.
  • Willingness and ability to meet deadlines.

Additional but not required

  • Trade school, certifications, or formal training in welding, electrical, or plumbing
  • OSHA or other safety certifications

Physical Requirements

  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of the week are Monday – Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and handle tools, materials, and equipment approx.. 60 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in industrial environments, including standing, climbing, working flat rooftops, and confined spaces
  • This job operates in a service shop environment both on company and customer site locations. This role routinely uses hand and power tools as well as office equipment such as laptop computers, and smartphones.
  • Must pass standard drug screening and background check

Travel

  • Travel will be local within New England

Required License and certifications

  • Demonstrated mechanical work experience service-based organization preferred.
