Job description

About the Company

At Flow, we're reimagining what it means to live, work, and connect. More than just a real estate company, Flow is a brand, a technology platform, and an operations ecosystem spanning condominiums, hotels, multifamily residences, and office spaces. We're building a new kind of living experience: one that's flexible, connected, and designed to create genuine community and real value for the people who call Flow home.

Our mission is oneness:  prioritizing our residents and their experiences, and fostering connection with ourselves, their neighbors, and the natural world. By putting people at the center of everything we do, we're creating vibrant, human-centered communities where life, work, creativity, and play all come together in one place.

About the Role

We're looking for a generalist software engineer who's most comfortable when the problem isn't fully defined yet. You'll work across the full stack, building product features, internal tools, integrations, and AI-assisted workflows that help our operations teams move faster and make better decisions. This isn't a role with a fixed scope.

At Flow, the best engineers jump across domains: backend one week, a new product surface the next, a scrappy internal tool the one after that. If you've spent your career in environments where work arrived pre-scoped and handed to you, this probably isn't the right fit. But if you've been the person on a small team who just figures things out, owns things end-to-end, and has strong opinions about how to build things well without over-engineering them, keep reading.

You'll be embedded with product and operations teams, translating real-world problems into working software. When a property manager says "tours are down this week," you won't just pull a report. You'll dig into the system, understand what's actually happening, and build something that makes the problem easier to solve next time.

We use AI coding tools like Claude Code and Cursor as force multipliers. That means strong written communication, clear prompts, clear documentation, clear stakeholder updates, is how you do your best work here. AI amplifies your impact when you communicate well. When you don't, it becomes a liability.

We believe our team is better together. Every position at Flow has an onsite or in-office requirement.

Responsibilites
  • Build and ship product features across the stack: backend services, APIs, internal tooling, and lightweight frontend surfaces
  • Design and own systems end-to-end, from initial architecture through deployment and iteration
  • Collaborate directly with operations, leasing, and product teams to understand problems and ship solutions fast
  • Build AI-assisted tools and workflows that surface insights, automate repetitive work, and help teams act with more confidence
  • Make pragmatic architectural decisions and communicate tradeoffs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Use AI coding assistants to accelerate development while maintaining production-quality standards, knowing when to trust generated output and when to take over
  • Adapt quickly as business priorities shift, taking on whatever the team needs most

Ideal Background
  • A generalist engineer with at least 5 years of experience. You've built across multiple layers of the stack and aren't precious about which one
  • You came up at an early-stage startup or a scrappy, resource-constrained team where specialization wasn't an option. You've worn many hats and built end-to-end
  • You're energized, not overwhelmed, by ambiguity. You can take a messy problem, scope it yourself, and ship something real
  • Proficient in Python and/or a strongly-typed backend language; comfortable with SQL, APIs, and cloud infrastructure (we're on GCP/Kubernetes)
  • You've integrated or built with LLMs and have a practical sense of where AI tooling adds value and where it doesn't
  • Strong written communicator. You write clear documentation, effective prompts, and can explain technical decisions without jargon
  • Based in Miami and ready to be in the office. This role moves fast and in-person collaboration is part of how we work
Nice to Have
  • Experience in real estate, proptech, or operations-heavy industries
  • Familiarity with data modeling, dbt, or analytics engineering
  • Experience building lightweight data pipelines or integrations across operational systems
Benefits
Comprehensive Benefits Package (Medical / Dental / Vision / Disability / Life)
Paid time off and 13 paid holidays
401(k) retirement plan
Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)
Access to HSA-compatible plans
Pre-tax commuter benefits
Employee Assistance Program (EAP), free therapy through SpringHealth, acupuncture, and other wellness offerings
