Job description

About Us
At EA, you'll find yourself surrounded by dynamic professionals that embrace collaboration and curiosity to foster innovation and problem-solving. This culture forms the essence of our value proposition to apply high-quality, objective, and interdisciplinary services to complex environmental challenges. With a strong foundation in servant leadership and community service, EA employees are encouraged to pursue personal and professional passions. As a team, we empower each other to share ideas, believe in our common purpose, and value differing perspectives.
Position Overview
EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC is seeking a senior-level Environmental Engineer or Geologist with strong experience in CERCLA-regulated environmental investigation and remediation to lead and manage complex investigation and cleanup projects.
This role is intended for professionals with 8+ years of direct environmental consulting experience, including technical leadership, project management, and client-facing responsibility on CERCLA projects. The ideal candidate will have direct experience working on mining and mining related projects.
Candidates without a strong background in environmental investigations, remediation, CERCLA, will not be considered.
The ideal candidate has a proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, oversee technically rigorous work, and serve as a trusted advisor to public- and private-sector clients. This individual will play a key role in expanding EA's CERCLA, mining and remediation practices and presence within the Central and Western United States.
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and project management for environmental investigations, remedial designs, and construction projects under CERCLA frameworks
  • Lead environmental efforts including:
    • Soil and groundwater remediation
    • Environmental investigations including field efforts
    • Potentially responsible party (PRP) oversight
  • Apply extensive knowledge of CERCLA regulations and best practices
  • Oversee and mentor multidisciplinary project teams while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards
  • Promote and model a strong safety culture across all project activities
  • Prepare, review, and deliver high-quality technical reports and regulatory submittals
  • Support negotiation, dispute resolution, and agency coordination on complex environmental projects
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including preparation of technical proposals and scopes of work
  • Build, maintain, and expand long-term client relationships that generate repeat business
  • Collaborate with professionals across EA offices to support client needs and strategic initiatives

Who This Role Is For
You'll likely be a great fit for this role if you have experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Spent a significant portion of your career working on CERCLA-regulated sites
  • Led or managed environmental investigations, remedial actions, or construction-phase remediation
  • Worked in environmental consulting, regulatory compliance, or remediation program delivery
  • Supported projects at Superfund sites
  • Worked on Department of Defense (DoD) environmental sites
  • Experience with mining or mining-related environmental projects
This Role May Not Be the Best Fit If Your Background Is Primarily In:
  • General civil, structural, or facilities engineering
  • Construction management without environmental remediation oversight
  • Project management outside of environmental consulting or remediation

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 6+ years of experience, in one of the following:
    • Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering
    • Geology or Geological Engineering
    • Environmental Science or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience with CERCLA projects is required
  • Experience managing large, complex environmental remediation projects from investigation through implementation
  • Strong client-facing skills, including business development and proposal support
  • Proven ability to maintain long-term client relationships
  • Ability to travel 1-2 times per month, with trips typically lasting 1-3 days

Note: This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.

Pay Range
