Custody and Digital Assets Risk Analyst

Join us as our Custody and Digital Assets Risk Analyst. BBH is seeking a risk professional to support the risk and governance oversight of traditional and digital asset servicing activities. This role requires an understanding of the operational, regulatory, and control complexities associated with a diverse range of products and services, including custody operations, corporate actions, income and tax entitlements processes, ETF servicing and transfer agent activities, and digital asset custodial models and practices. The successful candidate will help identify, assess, and manage risks arising from evolving products, processes, technologies, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Support the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancements of risk governance frameworks for traditional and digital asset servicing activities.
  • Partner with business operations, technology, and other control functions to evaluate new products, process changes, and strategic initiatives ensuring appropriate risk identification and control designs are factored.
  • Coordination of regulatory guidance for risk framework implementation from organizations such as SEC, NYDFS, FINRA and OCC.
  • Work with and implement effective models of continuous monitoring and self‑assessment.
  • Review incident management practices and corrective actions with internal teams, and escalating matters to senior management as needed.
  • Work with business and technology leads to evaluate change management needs of evolving technology to the control environment.
  • Ensuring reporting to management is clear, concise and timely.
  • Promote a culture of risk awareness, transparency and escalation across the engaged lines of business.
  • Identify, assess and elevate trends, control weaknesses and support the development of sustainable solutions for the management of risk in the business.
  • Assess industry or market trends on the overall design and effectiveness of the business line controls.
  • Develop and support training initiatives for InServ staff to promote risk awareness, risk culture and understanding of fundamental control principles.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Business, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • 3‑7 years’ experience in operational custody servicing, risk management, digital assets, or related disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of traditional and digital asset servicing frameworks, inclusive of blockchain technologies, cryptocurrency ecosystems, tokenized security practices and digital asset custody models.
  • Familiarity with risk analysis and trending on workflow events and control evaluation.
  • Familiarity with complex asset structures and practices.
  • Experience in assessing and defining risks associated with change management programs and evolving technology.
  • Experience evaluating operational controls and risk frameworks within financial institutions.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles and frameworks inclusive of Risk and Control Self‑Assessment, control testing and incident management practices.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex technical and operational concepts into clear risk narratives for business and senior leadership audiences.
Salary & Benefits

Salary Range NJ: $120,000 - 150,000 base salary + annual bonus target BBH and its affiliates' compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit‑sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
