    Job description

Figma is growing our team of passionate creatives and builders on a mission to make design accessible to all. Figma's platform helps teams bring ideas to life-whether you're brainstorming, creating a prototype, translating designs into code, or iterating with AI. From idea to product, Figma empowers teams to streamline workflows, move faster, and work together in real time from anywhere in the world. If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us!
The Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting team is responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial reporting, accounting for complex accounting transactions across a variety of accounting topics in accordance with US GAAP, maintaining accounting policies in key accounting areas, all while partnering with teams across the company. As a member of the team, you'll play a vital role in designing and maintaining scalable procedures, policies and internal controls to ensure compliance with US GAAP and other laws/regulations. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, highly analytical and technical individual who can work independently and prioritize effectively across multiple deliverables.
This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
    What you'll do at Figma:
    • Support preparation of quarterly (10-Q) and annual (10-K) SEC filings, including financial statements, footnotes, MD&A sections, and XBRL tagging
    • Research and draft technical accounting position memos for complex transactions, including equity compensation (ASC 718), business combinations (ASC 805), capitalized software (ASC 350), and leases (ASC 842)
    • Prepare and review monthly equity accounting journal entries (RSUs, PSUs, options) and maintain equity roll forward schedules
    • Contribute to the monthly and quarterly close process, including balance sheet reconciliations and flux analyses
    • Partner cross-functionally with Legal, FP&A, Tax, Stock Administration, and Investor Relations to coordinate financial reporting deliverables
    • Maintain internal accounting policies and process documentation in a SOX-compliant environment
    • Stay current on emerging SEC regulations and new GAAP pronouncements; flag potential impacts to the team

We'd love to hear from you if you have:
    • 3+ years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 or large regional firm) or at a public company in a technical accounting or SEC reporting role
    • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, particularly ASC 718, ASC 805, ASC 350, and ASC 842
    • Hands-on experience supporting or preparing SEC filings (10-Q / 10-K)
    • Excellent communication skills - you can research a complex accounting issue and document your conclusion clearly
    • Proven ability to operate autonomously, manage competing priorities, and deliver under tight deadlines

While it's not required, it's an added plus if you also have:
    • Experience using Workiva
    • CPA license
    • Prior exposure to equity compensation accounting, M&A transactions, or SaaS revenue recognition

At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you're excited about this role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
    Pay Transparency Disclosure
Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), market demands, and specific work location.

All compensation and benefits are subject to applicable plan terms and may be modified by Figma at any time, consistent with applicable law.
    Annual Base Salary Range:
    $127,000-$183,000 USD
