A rapidly growing legal technology company focused on transforming how in-house legal teams operate is looking for a Founding Product Designer to help define the future of AI-powered legal software. This company is on a mission to elevate legal departments from support functions into strategic business partners by building platforms that unify legal data, streamline workflows, and help legal teams move at the speed of AI. Trusted by Fortune 500 companies and high-growth innovators alike, the company is building category-defining products and is seeking its first design leader to help shape the experience from the ground up.

In this role, you will own the end-to-end product design process and play a critical part in taking products from zero to one. You will work directly with customers, engineers, and company leadership to design intuitive experiences for complex legal workflows while helping define the design culture, systems, and standards for the organization. This position is ideal for someone who combines exceptional design craft with strong technical aptitude and enjoys operating in highly collaborative startup environments where speed, ownership, and execution matter.

This is a full-time opportunity requiring 3-4 days per week onsite in Midtown Manhattan near the Empire State Building. Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of product design experience within startup or growth-stage environments
• Experience designing B2B SaaS products and complex workflow-driven applications
• Experience designing AI-native products or AI-powered user experiences
• Strong end-to-end product design experience from concept through launch
• Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and production-ready designs
• Prior engineering, software development, or highly technical background
• Strong portfolio demonstrating ownership of complex product experiences
• Experience partnering closely with engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle

• Experience as a founder, startup operator, or early-stage employee
• Strong understanding of technical architecture and software development processes
• Experience building or evolving design systems from the ground up

What You Will Be Doing

Daily Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end product design process from concept through implementation and launch

• Collaborate directly with engineers to build and iterate on core platform features
• Conduct customer conversations and incorporate feedback into ongoing product development
• Create wireframes, prototypes, interaction models, and high-fidelity product designs
• Help bridge the gap between design and engineering through technical collaboration
• Establish foundational design systems, processes, and best practices
• Partner with leadership to influence product strategy and roadmap decisions
• Contribute to building a high-performing product and design culture as the company scales
