FI Solution Delivery PMO - Business Analyst Position Description
Department Overview:
The FI Product organization strives to deliver competitive, open architecture, integrated product solutions that strengthen FI's position in the marketplace and help our clients grow.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a matrixed organization and with a fast paced product management team. The candidate will partner with a project manager to direct and lead product initiatives with diverse scope and complex business problems. Acting as the primary interface between end users and the systems organization, it is critical to understand the problems the Product team faces on an ongoing basis, as well as, their workflows and general work environment. The candidate must have strong analytical skills, an understanding of technology and how it is used, financial markets and securities, and project management skills.
Role Summary: Provide leadership through an expert understanding of project life cycle and business objectives needs. Lead and direct the gathering of business requirements through interviewing or conducting group requirements sessions. Oversee the creation and development of detailed business requirements for one or more areas of focus. Requirements should include business context, user definition and use cases, workflow diagrams and descriptions, identification and description of the common problems that need to be solved. This individual serves as liaison between the Business and Technology groups on technology development projects. A key focus is maintaining relationships across multiple operating units and systems groups, including external vendors.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the creation and development of detailed written business requirements according to Fidelity development methodology.
  • Document findings from requirements definition sessions; effectively define and communicate issues.
  • Analyze and document current workflows, identify opportunities to meet project objectives, and make recommendations for future approaches
  • Develop user definitions, use cases and workflow diagrams to illustrate business problems.
  • Identify issues and escalate them as appropriate.
  • Lead project meetings, e.g., business requirements review, testing strategy review, testing triage calls.
  • Actively participate in formal presentations to a variety of management levels.
  • Lead UAT planning and execution, managing the identification and resolution of defects with members of Quality Assurance, Technology, and business partners.
  • Create production validation plans and execute with business users and technology partners
  • Assist with FI project reporting package production
    Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5 years experience in brokerage industry
  • 3-5 years experience in business analysis
    Skills and Knowledge:
  • Self-starter who is assertive, independent and can work without close supervision on multiple, concurrent projects.
  • Outstanding verbal and written skills
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft suite of Office products, MS Project and Visio
  • Deep understanding of Waterfall and Agile methodologies and experience implementing projects using them.
