GENERAL FUNCTION
The Manufacturing Operations Manager directs the manufacture of prescription eyewear in a high volume, mixed model environment. Leads supervisors and production teams to successfully achieve daily performance goals and objectives established by facility leaders. Maintains a safe working environment and promotes a culture of associate engagement that provides opportunities for growth and advancement.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Determines staffing requirements.
  • Hires and trains new staff.
  • Supervises direct reporting staff according to Luxottica Characteristics.
  • Sets employee goals and objectives.
  • Develops staff to maximize potential.
  • Evaluates current business processes and systems.
  • Plans and implement. procedures and systems to continuously improve operations.
  • Establishes and maintains controls.
  • Formulates department/unit policies and practices.
  • Coordinates financial and budget activities for maximum operational efficiency.
  • Facilitates the preparation and analysis of reports.
  • Responsible for the achievement of department/division/unit productivity and quality goals.
  • Organizes and manages business meetings

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6+ years of experience in related field
  • Knowledge of business and management principles and practices
  • Knowledge of strategic planning
  • Knowledge of human resource management principles and procedures
  • Knowledge of basic economic and accounting principles and practices
  • Knowledge of office administrative procedures
