Ericsson is seeking a highly technical, customer-obsessed Data Center Transport / Hardware Engineer to help grow our installation, break/fix, and warehousing businesses. This role is a trusted advisor to customers-someone who understands their operational environments, constraints, and business goals even better than they do. By working directly on customer sites and in labs, you will identify opportunities, improve operational reliability, and influence how Ericsson services are delivered and expanded.
What you will do
  • Serve as a senior technical resource supporting Ericsson's data center transport and hardware services, with a focus on installations, break/fix operations, and warehousing enablement.
  • Visit customer data centers, labs, and operational environments to assess current-state operations and identify opportunities for new sales wrt efficiency, reliability, and service growth.
  • Develop, review, and maintain detailed Methods of Procedure (MoPs) for installations, upgrades, migrations, and remediation activities.
  • Perform scenario planning and risk analysis to support complex operational changes, failure recovery, and customer escalations.
  • Review Bills of Materials (BoMs) for technical accuracy, completeness, and alignment with customer and operational requirements; recommend changes where needed.
  • Provide Tier 3 back-office technical support to field technicians, acting as an escalation point for complex hardware and transport issues.
  • Partner closely with technicians, project managers, delivery leads, and CFRs to ensure flawless execution of customer engagements.
  • Translate customer business needs into actionable operational and technical recommendations that improve outcomes and expand Ericsson's footprint.
  • Build deep, trusted relationships with customer stakeholders, becoming a go-to expert for both technical guidance and operational strategy.
  • Identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities in existing processes and proactively propose solutions.

The skills you bring
  • Strong experience in data center hardware, transport, or network infrastructure engineering, ideally in large-scale or mission-critical environments.
  • Proven ability to lead or author MoPs, run complex operational scenarios, and support high-risk changes.
  • Deep understanding of installation, break/fix, and warehousing models in data center or telecom environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, including serving as Tier 3 escalation support.
  • Exceptional customer-facing skills, with the ability to understand customer businesses, priorities, and pain points in depth.
  • Experience reviewing and validating BoMs, designs, and implementation plans.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills using Microsoft software suite, with attention to detail and a bias for operational excellence
  • Ability to work independently in customer environments while influencing outcomes across multiple teams.
  • A consultative mindset, curiosity, and the confidence to challenge assumptions and recommend better ways of operating.

Your Pay
The salary range for this position is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.
Your Health
Ericsson offers excellent health benefits including the choice of three medical plan options and a dental plan option that allow an employee to select the level of coverage that suits their needs. Employees will receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost that Ericsson pays toward the cost of their medical and dental premiums for themselves and eligible covered dependents.
Your Financial Security
We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. The Ericsson US 401(k) Plan offers an automatic 3% company contribution and Ericsson match $1 for every $1 you put into the 401(k) Plan on the first 3% of your eligible pay, plus 50 cents on every $1 on the next 2% of eligible pay. When you contribute at least 5% of eligible pay, you are receiving Ericsson's full matching contributions of 4%. Matching and company automatic contributions stop when your total eligible pay for the year reaches the IRS limits. Employees will also receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost of basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage, as well as short-term and long-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson's Stock Purchase Plan.
Your Time
Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee's start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
