To thrive as a Network Engineer, you need a solid understanding of networking protocols, troubleshooting, and infrastructure, typically supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with networking hardware, Cisco or Juniper devices, and certifications like CCNA or CompTIA Network+ are highly valued. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help in diagnosing issues and collaborating with IT teams. These competencies are essential for maintaining secure, efficient, and reliable network operations critical to organizational performance.

How does a networking professional typically collaborate with other IT teams within an organization?

Networking professionals frequently work alongside system administrators, security teams, and help desk staff to ensure smooth and secure operation of an organization's IT infrastructure. Collaboration often involves troubleshooting connectivity issues, implementing network upgrades, and ensuring network security protocols are properly integrated with other systems. Effective communication and teamwork are essential, as network changes can impact multiple departments. Regular meetings, cross-functional projects, and coordinated response to incidents are common ways networking professionals interact with peers across IT.

What are networking professionals?

Networking professionals are specialists who design, implement, manage, and troubleshoot computer networks within organizations. They ensure reliable communication and data sharing between devices, maintain network security, and optimize network performance. These professionals may work with local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), cloud networks, and other related technologies. Their roles often include tasks such as configuring routers and switches, monitoring network traffic, and resolving connectivity issues. Networking professionals are essential for keeping businesses and organizations connected and secure in today's digital world.

This is an onsite role in Woodbury MN

At Ensono, our Purpose is to be a relentless ally, disrupting the status quo and unleashing our clients to Do Great Things!  We enable our clients to achieve key business outcomes that reshape how our world runs. As an expert technology adviser and managed service provider with cross-platform certifications, Ensono empowers our clients to keep up with continuous change and embrace innovation.

We can Do Great Things because we have great Associates. The Ensono Core Values unify our diverse talents and are woven into how we do business. These five traits are the key to achieving our purpose:

Honesty, Reliability, Curiosity, Collaboration, and Passion.

About the role and what you'll be doing:

The Onsite Desktop Support Engineer manages the full physical and digital lifecycle of company hardware and software. This role balances high-volume equipment provisioning (imaging and shipping) with expert technical support. You will ensure that workstations are perfectly configured before deployment and remain functional through proactive Microsoft 365 management and comprehensive onsite/remote troubleshooting

We want all new Associates to succeed in their roles at Ensono. That's why we've outlined the job requirements below. To be considered for this role, it's important that you meet all Required Qualifications. If you do not meet all of the Preferred Qualifications, we still encourage you to apply.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Microsoft 365 Administration: Manage user accounts, licenses, and group memberships within the M365 Admin Center; troubleshoot issues with Outlook profiles, OneDrive sync errors, and Teams connectivity.

    • Hardware Provisioning & Imaging: Execute the end-to-end setup of laptops and desktops using deployment tools (e.g., SCCM, Intune, Autopilot); ensure all OS patches, drivers, and core applications are verified before the device leaves the bench.

    • Logistics & Shipment: Securely package, label, and track hardware shipments to remote employees, ensuring "out-of-the-box" readiness and zero transit damage.

    • Remote Technical Troubleshooting: Support offsite employees via remote desktop tools (e.g., TeamViewer, Quick Assist) to resolve software conflicts, VPN connectivity, and M365 application crashes.

    • Onsite "White Glove" Support: Provide walk-up or desk-side assistance for local office staff, resolving hardware failures, docking station connectivity, and conference room A/V issues.

    • Connectivity & Network Support: Troubleshoot local LAN/Wi-Fi issues onsite and guide remote users through home-network optimization for stable cloud-app performance.

    • Asset & Inventory Management: Maintain a meticulous log of all hardware assets, tracking "in-flight" shipments, onsite spares, and retired equipment in the ITSM (e.g., ServiceNow or Jira).

    • Break/Fix & Maintenance: Perform hardware repairs (RAM upgrades, screen replacements) and manage the secure decommissioning/wiping of legacy drives.

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    • M365 Proficiency: Hands-on experience troubleshooting the Microsoft 365 suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive).

    • Technical Expertise: Expert knowledge of Windows 10/11 and macOS; familiarity with BIOS/UEFI settings and hardware diagnostic tools.

    • Remote Support Tools: Proven experience using remote control software and ticketing systems to manage a high volume of support requests.

    • Operational Precision: Extreme attention to detail regarding asset tagging, shipping documentation, and cable management.

    • Physical Capability: Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs) and maintain an organized build-room environment.

    Preferred Certifications

    • Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate.

    • CompTIA A+ or Network+.
