Position Purpose and Objectives
Under the direction of the Project Systems, Standards and Quality Director, the Project Control Specialist supports project controls for capital, maintenance, and member-driven projects by managing project budgets, tracking costs, coordinating material requirements, and maintaining accurate project control information throughout the project lifecycle. This position helps ensure project financial and material information is complete, current, and aligned with approved scopes, schedules, estimates, work orders, and organizational requirements.
The position works closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Operations, Accounting, Supply Chain, contractors, vendors, and other responsible parties to monitor budgets, review project cost activity, coordinate material needs, identify variances, support timely issue resolution, maintain project control records, and promote consistent project delivery practices across all projects.

Supervision Received and Exercised:
Under general supervision of the Project Systems, Standards and Quality Director. No supervisory duties.
Problem Solving:
Provides solutions to a variety of project budget, cost tracking, material coordination, documentation, and stakeholder coordination problems of minimal to moderate scope and complexity. Solutions are practical, thorough, timely, and consistent with organizational standards, project control requirements, and project objectives.
Discretion/Latitude:
Decisions are made within guidelines provided by management, approved project documentation, company standards, budget requirements, procurement procedures, and established project control processes. The position reviews project cost and material information, documents findings, recommends corrective actions, coordinates project control information, and manages time effectively while supporting project schedules, budgets, and reporting expectations.
Impact:
Contributes to completion of project milestones by helping ensure budgets, costs, material requirements, and project control records are accurate, current, and communicated to responsible parties. Failure to identify or communicate budget variances, material shortages, cost discrepancies, or project control issues may result in rework, schedule delays, increased costs, inaccurate financial reporting, delayed closeout, or the need for additional resources.

Typical hiring range:
Pay Grade18: $91,300 - $101,830 annually. Position is within a grade with a maximum of $112,360.
