Position & Office Overview
As an Intern working with our environmental group, you will reinforce your education through a practical, hands-on, paid work experience. Your work will be realistic and rewarding, and allow you to be in a position of responsibility. You will contribute ideas and develop knowledge and communication skills while interacting with top professionals in your field. Your internship is more than a job; it is a learning experience that allows you to explore career options. You can even learn more about yourself, your skills, and help set your career goals. Responsibilities
  • Sampling and assessments of soil, groundwater, air, and other materials
  • Observing and documenting field activities
  • Using field screening equipment and documenting readings
  • Working with GIS/GPS (a big plus)
  • Interacting and communicating daily with contractors, technicians and project managers
  • Writing clear field reports of site activities each day

Qualifications
  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering with an environmental focus, Geology, Environmental Science or related degree
  • Interest in environmental regulations and how environmental issues are related to the construction process
  • Must be able to provide suitable transportation for use on job sites - Mileage will be reimbursed
  • Position requires carrying 40 - 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist height
