Major purpose:
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Conducts and manages the processes for obtaining goods and services for the Company.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Act as an authorized agent of the Company with responsibility for managing all supplier-related activities and the authority to commit Company resources through contracts and agreements.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Carries out effective purchasing from selected suppliers who meet procurement requirements with the best price, quality, and delivery.
Major functions:
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Purchases parts, components, materials, equipment, and services in support of Company requirements.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Evaluates and selects suppliers for existing and potential procurement needs and places purchase orders.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Performs analyses and investigations of supplier's facilities and operations.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Negotiates purchasing terms and conditions for materials, suppliers, and services which use standard terms and conditions.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Coordinates source information among organizations to facilitate timely purchasing of commodities.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Keeps management informed on status of purchase order requests.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Performs or monitors follow-up activity involving purchase orders to ensure delivery schedules are met, items are properly received, and suppliers are paid in an expeditious manner.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Seeks and develops new sources of supplies and participate in the development of procurement policies and procedures.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education and Experience:
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย A bachelor's degree.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย 3 to 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge:
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Company material policies, practices, and procedures.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Technical products or commodities being purchased.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Federal government procurement regulations and related directives.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Supplier products, services, and manufacturing capabilities.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Supplier billing and related Company accounting procedures.

Skills & Abilities:
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Coordinate the requirements of engineering and manufacturing with suppliers during all phases of procurement effort.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Effectively negotiate pricing agreements, purchase orders, and terms and conditions.
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Effective verbal and written communication skills.
