    Job description

    Overview
    The Oilfield Maintenance Electrician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and inspecting electrical systems and production equipment in an oilfield environment. This role supports safe and reliable operations by performing preventive maintenance, electrical repairs, equipment replacements, and responding to electrical callouts. The electrician is also responsible for maintaining accurate documentation in SAP, completing work orders, and ensuring all work is performed in accordance with safety standards and company procedures.
    Responsibilities
    • Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and maintain electrical systems and oilfield production equipment.
    • Perform preventive maintenance and replace motors, VFDs, contactors, relays, overloads, transformers, generators, pumps, air compressors, VRUs, LACT units, SWDs, and other electrical components.
    • Read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment documentation.
    • Troubleshoot electrical control circuits, 4-20 mA instrumentation, PLC-related field signals, and associated wiring.
    • Support medium-voltage equipment associated with ESP and gas lift operations.
    • Perform equipment startups, commissioning, and respond to after-hours electrical callouts as needed.
    • Replace pole-mounted fuses using a hot stick when required.
    • Utilize multimeters, megohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to identify and resolve electrical issues.
    • Complete SAP work orders, document repairs, update maintenance records, and communicate equipment issues and follow-up actions.
    • Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), work permits, JSAs, JSPs, and proper electrical PPE.
    • Travel between field locations and support a 7-on/7-off rotational schedule.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 4 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.
    • Previous oilfield electrical maintenance experience required.
    • Strong troubleshooting experience with motors, VFDs, motor starters, contactors, relays, overloads, MCCs, transformers, generators, pumps, compressors, and oilfield production equipment.
    • Experience working on electrical systems up to 480V and familiarity with medium-voltage equipment.
    • Ability to read electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
    • Experience using multimeters, megohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment.
    • Knowledge of 4-20 mA control circuits, PLC field signals, and electrical control systems.
    • Experience with SAP or similar computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
    • Texas Journeyman Electrician License preferred, or willingness and eligibility to obtain one within one year.
    • Strong knowledge of LOTO, electrical safety practices, work permits, JSAs, and electrical PPE.
    • Ability to work independently, travel between field locations, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, climb ladders, lift equipment, and work in confined spaces.
    • Must be available for a 7-on/7-off rotational schedule and after-hours emergency callouts.
    • Must meet conditional job offer requirements including background, drug test, MVR, and fit for duty and agility.
