    Job description

    Systems Business Analyst (Consultant) This is a 37.5 hour work week.

    Contract Length: 12 months with possible extension
    Location: New York, NY ( in person interview required
    Work Setup:
    Hybrid (3 days onsite per week or as needed; 100% remote is not available)

    Join a collaborative team supporting enterprise technology initiatives that drive innovation across Legal, Safety, and Risk platforms. As a Systems Business Analyst (Consultant), you will bridge business needs with technical execution by partnering with stakeholders, Product Teams, engineering, vendors, and implementation partners to deliver scalable enterprise solutions.

    Systems Business Analyst Responsibilities
    • Partner with business stakeholders, Product Teams, IT, vendors, and implementation partners to deliver enterprise technology solutions.
    • Lead discovery sessions, workshops, and requirements gathering to define business objectives and operational needs.
    • Perform business analysis including current and future state assessments, gap analysis, workflow optimization, and process documentation.
    • Translate business requirements into BRDs, FRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, data mappings, and integration specifications.
    • Manage and refine product backlogs using JIRA and Azure DevOps, ensuring priorities align with delivery objectives.
    • Support Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, demos, retrospectives, and release planning.
    • Analyze enterprise system integrations involving REST APIs, SOAP services, SFTP, middleware, batch interfaces, and data flows.
    • Collaborate with development teams throughout the SDLC to validate requirements, support implementation, and ensure business readiness.
    • Coordinate SIT/UAT activities, develop test cases, manage defect resolution, and support successful deployments.
    • Perform SQL analysis, data validation, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting for enhancements and production issues.
    • Prepare executive summaries, project documentation, status reports, and decision logs while proactively identifying risks and dependencies.
    Systems Business Analyst Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

    • Proven experience as a Systems Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role supporting enterprise applications.
    • Strong knowledge of SDLC methodologies and Agile delivery practices.
    • Experience creating BRDs, FRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, integration requirements, and data mapping documentation.
    • Hands-on experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps Boards, and Confluence.
    • Experience with REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, SFTP, middleware integrations, and batch processing.
    • Strong SQL skills with knowledge of Oracle databases, ETL concepts, data migration, and data validation.
    • Understanding of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), SAML SSO, Identity & Access Management (IAM), and role-based security.
    • Excellent communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Power Apps, SharePoint, .NET/C#, and Azure Services.
    • Knowledge of OpenText eDOCS, DocuWare, and enterprise document management platforms.
    • Experience supporting Risk, Claims, Legal, Compliance, Safety, Origami Risk, Salesforce, or ServiceNow platforms.
    • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, CI/CD concepts, Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps Pipelines, and legacy modernization initiatives involving COBOL or mainframe applications.
