    Job description

    Mass General Brigham Orthopedic Surgeon

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Fellowship-Trained Board Certified or Board Eligible Adult Reconstruction Orthopedic Surgeon to join our well-established practice based in Northampton, Massachusetts, with clinic locations in Amherst and Hatfield. This role offers the best of both worlds: community-based practice with the reach, resources, and standards of an integrated Mass General Brigham system.

Mass General Brigham Cooley Dickinson has proudly served the Pioneer Valley for over 140 years, delivering exceptional care in a supportive and collaborative environment. As part of Mass General Brigham, our teams are connected to a broad regional network and systemwide expertise—helping you provide high-quality, patient-centered joint replacement care close to home, with access to the strength of an integrated organization.

    What You'll Do
    • Join a high-performing orthopedic service line with subspecialty depth in Sports Medicine, Shoulder, Hand, Foot & Ankle, Total Joint Replacement, and Arthroscopic Joint Preservation—supported by an on-site non-surgical sports medicine physiatrist.
    • Practice shoulder-to-shoulder with a collaborative team of 6 orthopedic surgeons, a physiatrist, and 7 Advanced Practice Providers in a newly expanded, state-of-the-art facility designed to support efficient, team-based care.
    • Share in a supportive general orthopedic call schedule (currently 1:6) with a collegial group committed to balanced coverage.
    • Grow your practice with structured mentoring, peer collaboration, and professional development opportunities across the team and the broader Mass General Brigham network.
    Why Northampton?

Northampton sits in the heart of the Pioneer Valley—an area known for its independent spirit, four-season outdoor recreation, and a vibrant mix of arts, food, and higher education. The community offers excellent schools and an energetic downtown filled with shops, theaters, music, and locally owned restaurants. Celebrated by Travel and Leisure Magazine as one of the best U.S. destinations, and Money Magazine as one of the Top 50 Places to Live, Northampton delivers a distinctive quality of life with easy access to major hubs—Boston (100 miles), Hartford (45 miles), and New York City (150 miles)—while still feeling unmistakably New England.

    Why Choose Mass General Brigham?
    • A competitive salary with a transparent and rewarding compensation plan.
    • A comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and malpractice coverage.
    • Flexible work schedules to meet your personal and professional needs.
    • Eligibility for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program as part of our not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) designation.

Mass General Brigham is a leader in healthcare innovation, comprising 16 member institutions, including world-class academic medical centers, specialty and community hospitals, and a robust physician network. With over 1,180 physicians and 534 Advanced Practitioners across 78 locations, we are dedicated to transforming patient care. At Mass General Brigham, our patients come first.

    Ready to Make a Difference?

Explore the opportunity to practice in a dynamic, patient-focused environment—backed by Mass General Brigham—while enjoying the lifestyle, culture, and community of the Pioneer Valley.
