    Overview
    Telecommunications Technician (FRCE-2026-26034):
    Bowhead seeks to network with a Telecommunications Technician for an upcoming proposal effort in support of Fleet Readiness Center East (FRC East), Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, Havelock, North Carolina.
    This is a PT/ Oncall position.
    Responsibilities
    Job duties to include but are not limited to:
    • Installs, removes, maintains, modifies, troubleshoots, and repairs voice and/or non-voice communications systems including intercom and public address systems; alarm systems; teletype equipment; and electronic and electromechanical telephone key systems/PBAXs; terminal and communications equipment, including line drivers.
    • Runs cables, key cables, or house wire to all telephone sets, terminal connectors, lugs, pins, or screws, associated with key telephone equipment and/or terminating equipment for non-voice circuits.

    Qualifications
    • Required to have documented experience with Avaya Aura CM-7 with G-450 servers, analog and digital telephone installation and repair, fax machine installation and repair, coax cable installation and repair, and fiber optic cable and copper cable installation and repair.
    • Five years of experience installing, operating or maintaining Private Branch Exchange (PBX)/Private Automatic Branch Exchange (PABX) telephone systems (this experience shall have been obtained within the last seven years); and,
    • Certification in Avaya Communication Managers 6.X and above; or,
    • Seven years of experience installing, operating or maintaining PBX/PABX telephone systems (this experience shall have been obtained within the last 10 years).
    • Five years of experience installing, maintaining and repairing customer premise telephone station equipment and related ancillary equipment in a PBX and Avaya CM-6.x and above; and,
    • Two years of experience installing and testing structured Category 5 cable (Cat 5) (or greater) telecommunications cabling and wiring systems for both riser and horizontal station wiring requirements.

    Physical Demands:
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
    • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
    • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

    SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Confidential level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Confidential clearance at this location.
