    Job description

We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Service Technician to support ongoing service and maintenance work involving low voltage systems, structured cabling, and data cabling across commercial customer environments.

This role supports a wide range of facilities including retail, office, warehouse, distribution center, and industrial locations. The Low Voltage Service Technician role is primarily service-focused, with technicians typically home most nights and limited overnight travel compared to project-based positions.

This position is well-suited for a hands-on Low Voltage Service Technician or Lead Service Technician who enjoys troubleshooting, working independently, and serving as a technical point of contact in the field.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Service, troubleshoot, and maintain low voltage systems and structured cabling systems in commercial environments
    • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and upgrades on data cabling, voice cabling, and related low voltage infrastructure
    • Troubleshoot low voltage cabling issues including connectivity problems, terminations, and pathway deficiencies
    • Perform cable testing, certification, and documentation for structured cabling and data cabling systems
    • Respond to service calls across multiple customer locations and facility types
    • Read and interpret service documentation, blueprints, and site drawings
    • Replace, repair, and re-terminate damaged or non-compliant low voltage cabling
    • Install and service pathways including J-hooks, cable tray, and surface-mounted raceway as needed
    • Maintain accurate service reports, documentation, and customer sign-offs
    • Communicate professionally with customers, site contacts, and internal teams
    • Follow all safety standards, customer requirements, and OSHA guidelines

    Required Qualifications

    • Proven experience as a Low Voltage Service Technician, Low Voltage Technician, or Lead Service Technician
    • Strong hands-on background in low voltage systems, structured cabling, and data cabling
    • Experience performing service work, troubleshooting, and corrective repairs
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in customer-facing environments
    • Working knowledge of BICSI, NEC, and TIA/EIA standards
    • Ability to read and interpret prints, drawings, and service documentation
    • Comfortable working in ceilings, confined spaces, and active facilities
    • Ability to operate ladders, scissor lifts, and boom lifts (as required)
    • Strong communication skills and a professional customer-service mindset
    • Must have basic telecommunications tools, PPE, and reliable transportation
    • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record

    Compensation & Benefits

    • $25-$30 per hour, based on experience and technical capability
    • Steady service-focused work with limited overnight travel
    • Company-paid medical, dental, prescription, and vision coverage
    • Life insurance, AD&D, and long-term disability insurance
    • Paid vacation and holidays
    • MD Live and TriaHealth programs
    • Company-matched 401(k) and IRA retirement plans
    • Mileage and drive time reimbursement when using a personal vehicle

    Why Work With Us

This role offers consistent, long-term low voltage service work without extended travel. Technicians who succeed here enjoy stable hours, strong benefits, customer-facing responsibility, and the opportunity to grow into lead-level service roles while supporting high-quality commercial low voltage infrastructure.
