Essential Duties:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assist patients with managing their medications, obtaining new prescriptions and refills, and answering medication questions as necessary
- Perform venipuncture, maintain site and administer IV medications as ordered
- Draw blood, perform accuchecks, and urinalysis; prepare various specimens for transport while maintaining a clean, orderly clinical environment
- Perform procedures and treatments as ordered including, but not limited to wound care, small volume nebulizer (SVN) treatments, oxygen, ECG and assisting providers with procedures
- Assist with maintenance of exam rooms by restocking, checking expiration dates, and cleaning exam tables between patients
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records

- Act as a resource for Respite Assistant when questions arise about patient medical issues
- Able to adapt to rapid, unpredictable work flow
- Able to focus on work at hand with attention to detail
- Ability to work with difficult patients and those with mental illness
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing with a current Arizona license in good standing
- Certified in IV therapy, phlebotomy
- Minimum one (1) year experience in medical/surgical hospital, outpatient, home health or public health care
- Competent in basic nursing knowledge of illnesses and treatments
- Understanding of substance and mental health issues.
- Computer proficiency inclusive of ability to access, enter, and interpret computerized data/information is required including use of electronic health records
- Basic Life Support certification required (BLS)
