Ensuring Chart's Success...
What Will You Do?

The Project Engineer II will support the execution of aircooled heat exchanger (ACHX) projects manufactured at Chart Industries' Beasley, Texas facility. This role acts as a technical liaison between Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Sales to ensure customer requirements are translated into accurate, manufacturable designs and executed on schedule.

The Project Engineer II will manage moderately complex projects, support shop execution, review technical documentation, and help drive consistency and process discipline across ACHX engineering workflows. This position is handson, manufacturingfocused, and ideal for an engineer ready to grow into higherresponsibility project ownership.

Key Responsibilities Project Execution & Technical Support
  • Serve as the primary engineering contact for assigned ACHX projects from order kickoff through shipment.
  • Review customer specifications, datasheets, and purchase orders to confirm technical scope and requirements.
  • Support preparation and review of customer submittals, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate engineering deliverables with Project Managers to support schedule commitments.
Manufacturing & Shop Support
  • Provide daytoday engineering support to manufacturing, quality, and assembly teams in the Beasley facility.
  • Resolve technical issues related to headers, structures, tube bundles, finning, and assembly.
  • Review and disposition shop questions, nonconformances, and design clarifications.
  • Support ECNs and controlled design changes throughout the project lifecycle.
CrossFunctional Coordination
  • Act as a technical interface between Engineering, Drafting, Sales Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations.
  • Participate in internal kickoff meetings, design reviews, and lessonslearned discussions.
  • Support standardization efforts across ACHX designs and workflows.
Process & Continuous Improvement
  • Follow established ACHX engineering workflows, scheduling tools, and document control systems.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in project execution, handoffs, and engineering efficiency.
  • Help reinforce clear role boundaries between Project Engineering and Project Management while maintaining strong collaboration.
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require...
Work Environment
  • Primarily onsite at the Beasley, TX manufacturing facility.
  • Occasional travel may be required for customer meetings, suppliers, or other Chart locations
Your Experience Should Be...
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related engineering discipline).
  • 2-5 years of engineering experience in industrial equipment, rotating equipment, pressure equipment, or heavy manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with shop personnel.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering change control.
  • Proficiency with standard engineering tools (Excel, Word, PDF markup, CAD viewers).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with aircooled heat exchangers, pressure vessels, or heat transfer equipment.
  • Familiarity with ASME Section VIII and/or API 661 (exposure preferred; not required).
  • Prior experience in a Project Engineer or Manufacturing Support role.
  • Exposure to shopfloor problem solving and fielddriven design changes.
  • Experience working in a multiproject, deadlinedriven environment.
