The Solution Specialist role involves sales in Orange County and Southern Los Angeles Counties, connecting with college and university clients for digital learning solutions.

What you'll do here

Our BHT Solutions Specialists are key players in driving growth by offering Cengage Learning platforms as solutions to help higher education students and faculty achieve their goals in the Business, Healthcare, & Trades subject areas. You will:

• Engage customers in person and online to understand their needs
• Demo digital solutions and answer questions to gain trust and close new business
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver customer satisfaction and improve growth
• Develop a pipeline and strategies to source/close new sales opportunities
• Create a strategic plan for growth across your territory by analyzing data

Key Accountabilities

Plan for Success

• Coordinate and prioritize sales activities to achieve targets
• Use Salesforce to maintain an opportunities pipeline
• Build and implement strategic plans through collaboration
• Develop product knowledge and digital skills for sales calls
• Collaborate with the Customer Success team to support digital activations

Deliver Results

• Achieve and exceed sales targets by promoting Cengage solutions
• Conduct sales calls to identify needs and propose solutions
• Represent all product offerings across fields for the territory
• Partner with Customer Success teams for digital course builds and training
• Develop relationships with channel partners to ensure growth

Manage your business

• Use data to identify priorities for time and prioritization
• Maintain Salesforce updates and records accurately
• Handle travel, business, and sampling budgets effectively
• Provide clear, timely communication and reporting
• Exhibit digital proficiency with internal systems

Skills you will need here

• Minimum 2 years of customer-facing or education/training experience with a track record of success
• Digital skills to demonstrate products
• Compelling verbal and written communication capabilities
• Experience building positive relationships with decision-makers
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to value diversity of thought and work with diverse audiences
• Flexible and adaptable to change
• Proficiency in PC and Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to travel and conduct on-site visits in Orange County, Pomona, Fullerton, and Riverside, CA.
• Must be located within the assigned sales territory (Orange County and surrounding areas)

Additional qualifications to achieve success quickly, but not required

• Direct sales, marketing, or editorial experience preferred
• Prior ed tech sales experience preferred
• Proficiency in social media web platforms preferred

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location.

In this position, you will be eligible to participate in the company'svariable Salesincentive compensation program.

$52,000.00 - $67,600.00 USD0

Target Variable Compensation:

45,000.00 USD Annual: Individual Target
