Retail Assistant Store Manager Description

Our client, an established retailer, is looking for an Assistant Store Manager to add to their team in Sevierville, TN. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will share responsibility for store operations, sales performance, and team leadership — helping drive one of the company's top-performing locations. Ideal candidates are mature, team-oriented leaders who lift the people around them and foster a positive, service-focused culture. This is an exciting path to career growth with a family-owned, values-driven company that believes in promoting from within.

Retail Assistant Store Manager Responsibilities

•    Partner with Store Manager to oversee daily store operations, sales volume, and profitability
•    Delegate tasks and responsibilities to associates with clear guidance and follow-up
•    Recruit, hire, onboard, and train new associates
•    Evaluate associate performance; coach and take corrective action when needed
•    Motivate and lead the team; foster a positive, accountable, and collaborative store culture
•    Own sales floor standards throughout product lifestyle for presentation, signage, and placement
•    Stay current on fashion trends and retail merchandising best practices
•    Allocate and manage monthly department work schedules within budget parameters
•    Process ongoing daily sales performance reports
•    Model, practice, and teach customer service techniques and standards
•    Support Loss Prevention efforts across stockroom, fitting rooms, and financial controls
•    Communicate professionally with associates, customers, and corporate contacts
•    Uphold company policies and procedures
•    Promote the company's image through strong community relations

Retail Assistant Store Manager Qualifications 

•    2+ years of experience in apparel, shoes, or department-based retail required
•    Experience as a keyholder required
•    Experience managing others required
•    Professional, positive, and team-oriented demeanor required
•    Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays required
•    Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and stand for extended periods required
