Job description

Position Overview

Bright Path Social Work is seeking a compassionate Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) to fulfill a full-time role dedicated to providing exceptional support and guidance within the educational sector. This position allows for remote work primarily focused on collaboration with school staff and families, enhancing the well-being of students and promoting a positive learning environment.

About the Organization

At Bright Path Social Work, we are dedicated to fostering the health and well-being of individuals and families across our community. We recognize the challenges faced by youth, particularly those who may require additional emotional and social support. Our mission is to facilitate access to vital services and create pathways for success, adapting our approaches to meet the unique needs of each student we serve.

Work Environment

This remote role provides flexibility while allowing the LMSW to maintain a strong connection with schools and families in Tallahassee, Florida. Our team is composed of dedicated professionals committed to collaboration and excellence in social work practice. While most work will be conducted remotely, occasional in-person meetings with school staff and families will enhance service delivery and foster strong relationships.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the LMSW include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify the psychosocial needs of students and their families, focusing on emotional, mental, and social factors that impact their educational experience.
  • Developing individualized intervention plans that align with students' educational goals and familial circumstances, ensuring their specific needs are addressed in a sensitive manner.
  • Providing empathetic counseling and emotional support, guiding students and their families through various challenges, including behavioral issues, academic pressures, and family dynamics.
  • Advocating for students' rights within the educational system, ensuring they have access to necessary services and resources.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including educators, administrators, and other health professionals, to coordinate holistic support for students.
  • Regularly monitoring client progress through in-person visits and virtual check-ins, adjusting care plans as necessary to meet evolving needs.
  • Facilitating family sessions to enhance communication and address conflicts that may arise regarding the student's education and well-being.
  • Providing educational resources and information on community programs that support student engagement and well-being.
  • Maintaining meticulous documentation of assessments, interventions, and education plans using electronic health record systems to ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulations.
  • Staying informed about the latest trends and best practices in social work, particularly as they relate to youth and educational settings.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role specifically targets students within the educational system who may require additional psychosocial support. The LMSW will not only work with students but also engage deeply with their families to create a supportive network that fosters learning and emotional resilience.

Qualifications
  • Masterโ€™s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
  • Current state licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).
  • A minimum of two years of experience in social work, preferably within educational or community settings dealing with youth and families.
  • In-depth knowledge of social work principles, childhood development, and community resources available to families.
  • Exceptional assessment, counseling, and interpersonal skills necessary for engaging with students and families effectively.
  • The capability to demonstrate empathy, build rapport, and create a trusting environment.
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, ensuring a well-rounded approach to student care.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems to assist in maintaining accurate client documentation.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience within a school setting or working with adolescents and families in crisis.
  • Familiarity with local educational policies and community resources specific to the Tallahassee area.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing successful intervention programs.
Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Bright Path Social Work offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Healthcare coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Retirement savings plan with employer-matching contributions.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO), along with holiday pay.
  • Professional liability insurance coverage.
  • Support for continuing education and professional development opportunities.
Career Growth Opportunities

Employees have access to workshops, certifications, and mentorship programs to enhance their skills and career trajectories. There are potential pathways for progression into leadership roles or specialized areas of practice.
