Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Detail-oriented and results-driven Corporate Accountant in managing financial records, preparing accurate reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Skilled in financial analysis, month-end and year-end closing, tax preparation, and budgeting. Proven ability to streamline processes, maintain internal controls, and collaborate across departments to support decision-making. Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory requirements. Adept at handling complex accounting tasks while ensuring timely and precise financial reporting.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monthly Financials for multiple corporate entities to include Bear Realty and Bear Commercial
  • Monthly Bank Reconciliations – Corporate Entities
  • Monitor Accounts Payable for assigned portfolio
  • Monthly Reconciliation of Bear Development projects
  • Support the administration of The Mortgage Office loan software
    • Loan set up
    • Posting of payments
    • Monitoring monthly pay requirements
  • Support current loan spreadsheets and monitor for accurate cash sheet reporting
  • Monthly Shared Services allocations for BREG services
  • Other duties as assigned by management
  • Collaborate with outside agencies, auditors, and owner/ investors to provide necessary documentation upon request.
  • Examine, document, and analyze existing policies and procedures, researching alternative opportunities, developing more effective and efficient processes. Act as a positive change agent


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from a 4-year college/university or equivalent
  • +5 years related real estate, corporate, accounting experience
  • Familiarity with GAAP, application of said accounting principles and journal entries
  • Above average Microsoft Excel or database/warehouse management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; drives clear direction
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of team dynamic
  • Strong interpersonal skills; apply good judgement in applying timely decisions
  • Creative, flexible, and innovative team player
  • Exposure to variety of software (i.e., Microsoft Office/Teams, AppFolio, Jonas, RealPage, DocuSign, Adobe, NetSuite, etc.)
  • Helpful familiarity with AppFolio, Jonas Premier, Lone Wolf
