Job description

Position Overview

Balance Breeze Center is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our skilled team. In this role, you will provide therapeutic services to individuals and families, focusing on enhancing mental health and well-being. Our ideal candidate is passionate about supporting clients struggling with mood disorders and is committed to making a positive impact in their lives.

About the Organization

Balance Breeze Center is a leading community health center located in Houston, Texas. We specialize in delivering a wide range of mental health services, including support for mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Our mission is to empower individuals and families through compassionate care and evidenced-based practices. We pride ourselves on fostering a supportive environment where both clients and staff can thrive.

Work Environment

This position offers the flexibility of a remote work setting, allowing you to provide quality care from the comfort of your own home while being part of an outpatient facility. Our work culture is built on collaboration, where you will regularly engage with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to ensure comprehensive support for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of clients’ symptoms of mood disorders, including their intensity, frequency, and duration.
  • Collaborate with clients to create customized treatment plans that reflect their individual needs and measurable goals.
  • Employ evidence-based therapeutic methodologies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to facilitate effective client interventions.
  • Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, available treatment options, and self-care strategies to promote better mental health awareness.
  • Continuously monitor client progress by tracking treatment results and making necessary adjustments to care plans.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to coordinate integrated care with other healthcare providers.
  • Stay informed on recent research and developments in the field of mood disorders to improve therapeutic practices and patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through attendance at team meetings and case consultations.
  • Advocate for clients by promoting mental health awareness and resource availability, especially among underserved populations.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with individuals affected by various mood disorders, including depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Our client base includes those from diverse backgrounds, including vulnerable populations such as the homeless, refugees, and survivors of domestic violence. Your role will involve understanding and addressing the unique challenges they face, providing compassionate support throughout their recovery journey.

Qualifications
  • Current, active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish a secure and trusting therapeutic relationship with clients through exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A nonjudgmental, empathetic approach to client experiences and mental health challenges is essential.
  • Strong organizational skills and effective time management abilities to handle administrative tasks within a busy environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with clients with mood disorders in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in evidence-based treatment approaches including CBT and DBT.
  • Familiarity with integrated care models and the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive salary ranging from USD 70,000 to 90,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off (PTO), health insurance, and a retirement savings plan to ensure your well-being.
  • Opportunities for continuing education and specialized training in addiction counseling and other relevant areas.
  • A supportive work environment that encourages professional growth, collaboration, and innovation.
  • The chance to make a meaningful impact on clients’ lives, contributing to their long-term recovery and personal growth.
Career Growth Opportunities

At Balance Breeze Center, we believe in cultivating talent and providing our team with the resources necessary for career advancement. You will have access to ongoing training sessions, workshops, and conferences that promote your development as a mental health professional. Additionally, you'll be able to pursue specialty certifications that align with your career interests.

Why Join Our Team

Joining Balance Breeze Center means becoming part of a mission-driven organization that values compassion, teamwork, and professional excellence. We are committed to supporting our therapists through regular supervision, professional development opportunities, and a collaborative work culture. Here, your contributions will not only help shape the future of mental health care but also transform the lives of those we serve.
