Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients experiencing mood disorders, including evaluating the intensity and frequency of their symptoms.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, ensuring that each plan aligns with their specific needs, goals, and preferences.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), tailoring approaches to suit each client.
  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families about mood disorders, available treatment options, and effective self-care strategies.
  • Monitor client progress diligently, regularly reviewing and adjusting treatment plans as necessary to promote optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists and healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care and holistic treatment of clients.
  • Stay current with the latest research and developments in mood disorders to enhance therapeutic methods and approaches within your practice.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
  • Engage actively in case consultations and participate in team meetings to promote collaborative learning.
  • Advocate for clients by promoting mental health awareness and addressing social stigmas associated with mental health issues.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on supporting individuals and families dealing with mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work with marginalized populations, including the homeless, refugees, and survivors of domestic abuse—clients who are particularly vulnerable and in need of empathetic therapeutic support to navigate their challenges.

Qualifications
  • Active and valid state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
  • A master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is mandatory.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential for establishing trusting therapeutic relationships with clients.
  • Demonstrated empathy and a nonjudgmental attitude toward the experiences of clients are critical for effective therapy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills are needed to navigate your caseload efficiently while performing administrative tasks.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in working with mood disorders and trauma-informed care is preferred.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems and telehealth platforms.
  • Prior engagement with diverse client populations or community outreach initiatives is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Annual salary ranging from USD 70,000 to USD 90,000, dependent on experience and qualifications.
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including generous paid time off, health insurance, and a retirement plan.
  • Opportunities for continuing education and professional development, tailored especially in addiction counseling.
  • A supportive workplace culture that emphasizes ongoing training and collaboration.
  • The chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those coping with addiction issues and mental health challenges.
