Job Description
- Top level Civil designer, with 5+ years of experience
- Performs non-routine and complex assignments from verbal instructions and under minimal supervision; considerable CADD skills are required to visualize and portray complex design features
- May determine drawing sequence and presentation
- Design of grading/drainage, water/wastewater systems, stormwater detention facilities
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D AutoCAD Civil 3D, grading, alignments, profiles, corridors, earthwork, and experience with pipe networks, detention, storm sewer design
- Has working knowledge of land development engineering criteria and understands agency requirements and approval process
- Works closely with Project Managers; may recommend minor design changes requiring sound judgment and discretion and perform simple design calculations
- Reviews work performed by CAD Technicians I and II before submitting to Project Engineer
- May guide or be assisted by other technicians
- Understanding of local and state agency codes and ordinances relevant to the construction plan approval
- Prepare cost and quantity estimates
Job Requirements
- Prior professional computer drafting experience
- Strong working knowledge of Civil 3D is a must
- Should have working knowledge of CAD manual drafting techniques and CAD standards
- Knowledge of construction plan preparation for land and /or site development projects
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Works well in a team oriented environment
